kyarcher
I shot my new CVA Accura this afternoon for the first time with my new Leupold scope mounted with Durasight integral mounts. First shot hit 2 feet to the right and I knew something was not right. Here's why!!!! I took the scope off and placed a 1" dowel in the rings and the scope mount screws on the barrel are way off. CVA is sending me a call tag and replacing the whole rifle.

KirkV
Wow if they are running left to right you already have a established lead!
kyarcher
I just hope it did not bend the scope..:mad:
Adjam5
Jeez! Talk about needing Kentucky windage when you shoot:D. Man I cannot believe that a gun will leave the factory that way, tapped so badly. But...you said CVA is making good on it. Good to hear. When I mount a scope, I use these. Dowels are good, but I like to use the same material I will be placing in the rings with metal being more true than wood. I had them spun up from 1" aluminum round stock. You can buy them also. Good Luck with your CVA. Let us know how it turns out.
kyarcher
I 've never saw those before Adjam. Were can you buy them and what are they called?? I do know its hard to find a true dowel thats not crooked at some point. I went through about 15 of them at Lowe's before I found the best one they had. Adjam5
Ya beat me to it William:D http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=557622 Williams link is the whole page of Midway, I linked one product. These were made on a lathe at my friends bike shop. I cannot take all the credit for this procedure. There was a sticky at the top of the rifle forum a few years ago. I can't remember who posted it, but it detailed this type of scope mounting and lapping the rings for a equal grasp by both rings. I never mount a scope any different now.
