jm23494
It does slow the arrow down a few fps (they advertise 1 on their website) due to the friction of the fletchings going through the biscuit. It is a very good rest for a beginner to be using.

JasonLester
There is not much speed loss with the WB. Its a great hunting reast as the arrow will not fall off. Another one I like that would be a good one is the new hostage rest. Beginner or not its a good rest. A rest is a part that I like having as little moving parts as possible. If it can fail it will. I couldn't live with myself if I missed an opertunity because my rest messed up. Besides speed of a couple fps isn't that big of a deal when it comes to hunting. I'd geuss the biggest complaint I have heard with the WB is it tearing up regular vanes. That is easily fixed with blazers or the new tougher vanes they came out with... I have yet to do that. But these are still ok for now.
HOYTnMUZZYboy
I have been shooting the wb for years. Love it. You gotta rememeber its not all about speed. People get to caught up in the whole speed thing.

fly
I use the WB. The guys at the pro shop recommended I use feathers with the WB. They dropped arrows through the WB and found that arrows with vanes would not pass through, but feathers would. Seems like an easy test to try if you want to see for yourself. I took their word for it and use feathers.

Shorty, I would not worry about speed. Let her use the WB and work on form and accuracy first. I been using a WB rest since I been bow hunting, I don't plan on changing either. VermontHunter
Ok, what do you mean by dropped? I asked this question before. Pointing the bow to the floor then dropping the arrow through the biscuit? Just for giggles I took my extra WB Rest and dropped my 29 1/2 " GT XT shaft fletched with 2" Blazer vanes and dropped one through letting gravity do it's job and the shaft and vanes passed through without any type of hang up ... ;) As far as speed loss go's it's so minimal that it's not even worth mentioning ,, heck you lose as much if not more speed with string silencers .. Dawg
I have a WB on my bow and like it a lot. If you are worried about speed, try cutting some of the "hairs" out of the WB just where the vanes will go through. I have this done to mine. If done right the WB will still hold the arrow if it happens to come un-notched.
wtnhunt
Lose a little speed with the biscuit, but not too much. Been shooting one for a couple years now. Put wb rests on both my wifes and daughters bows.

m gardner
A couple guys at the range put them on a Bowtech Airborne and a PSE X Force and claimed that there was no difference with AAE Max Hunter vanes. I've used it on and off and am going to use it on a Martin Cheetah I just bought new for $249.00. The only real problem I have with it is they wear out too quickly. I shoot alot though. My Mathews I put a thousand arrows a month through and use a drop away. I really like the WB for hunting. This little bow I'll hunt with and only shoot occasionally. It's a toy I got for a good price. Mark

fly
Ok, what do you mean by dropped? I asked this question before. Pointing the bow to the floor then dropping the arrow through the biscuit? quote] Sorry for not answering your previous question. I must of missed it. Yes, eaxactly what you thought. Pointing towards the ground and dropping the arrows. Another thing they mentioned is that plastic vanes get beat up shooting through a WB (over time). Mine have got waves in them. The feathers get beat down some (over time) but the pro shop fellas stated that flat feathers has less of an impact on arrow flight than wavy plastic vanes. Well, then your shop must not know about the durability of the Bohning Blazer and Killer vanes. I shot the same arrow hundreds of times with these two vanes. Not one ever wrinkled or warped. Yes the vanes that were originally on my shafts got this way. But this is why I no longer buy shafts with vanes attached. With the right components, the WB is an awesome rest. Simple, no moving parts, easy to tune. For a beginner or a seasoned bow hunter.

Now maybe with a shaft that has a right helical and four or five inch vanes will stop. But then 99.9% of WB users do not use a helical in this rest with full size vanes. I use a right helical on my Blazers. But since they are so short, they do not have the resistance like the longer vanes.
PotashRLS
If your arrows fly well with broadheads through the WB, stay with it. If they are hard to tune, try a dropaway.

Agreed...if it works well with your set up, it's a great hunting rest. If you want full containment with a drop away, try a QAD
Stryder
I've used the WB for couple years now. The biggest advantage over a drop away is I dont have to hold the arrow while stalking. Even the fully contained drop aways can let the arrow "bounce" around and make noise. Not to mention the occasional premature drop if I bump the string just right. layin on the smackdown
The WB is a great rest for anyone....ive been using one for about 4 years and have yet to find a legitimate reason to not use one.... Blazer vaines work great with it- wrinkle free and fly great. I personally think there is too much hype about fall aways, and there is a lot of room for error with a fall away....the wb seems to be almost flawless...
