fly
Depends on how much hunting pressure the place has had. If you can hunt the yellow spots with the stands you might want to consider it if there hasn't been a lot of pressure. There's generally a reason others place stands in certain locations. If there has been a lot of pressure you may want to go to the far right (the deer may be pushed back there). I like the line of timber that seperates the fields in the far right. Maybe even get about 15 yards off in the timber.....so you can shoot to the edge of the timber. I will be will willing to bet there is some nice trails up there. PotashRLS
I agree. Looks like the upper right portion is thicker and most likely is a bedding area of some sort, especially leading into the back of the park. I would hunt the edge like the rest said purely to keep from educating the deer. Don't go into it otherwise you'll probably wreck the hunting on the rest of the property too. You seem to have a long walk into the back so plan you way in and out carefully so you don't bump the deer that come out to the open to feed at dusk. Seems to be a lot of timbered funnels so some after season scouting should reveal preferred travel areas.
mastr001
Need to add something about this property. People hunt it prob almost every weekend or so.But not only 1 to 4 hunters. and Second the land around the fields where most of the yellow dots are was clear cut about 6 years ago and the thick stuff thats in the middle is pines that are still to young to hunt in. So both places are perfect for a bedding area b/c its to thick to even sit in. its about 1000 acres also. The part in the upper right and to the right is where the hardwoods start. I am going in mid jan and its in lower alabama which the rut just starts getting good. Any more ideas
