Turkeygirl
So my phone interview with the NY state Dept. of Env. Conservation camps person was yesterday. Prior to that, one of my fellow counselors called me and she'd had her interview and let me know how it was. Pretty much similar to the interview I'd had 2 years previously, with a few new questions. The guy called at 3pm, I think the interview took about a 1/2 hour. sked me questions, I answered them, although last night lying in bed I started doing the "maybe I should have it answered it with this" Questions invloved things like personal and profession accomplishments, which was kind of a tricky one, but for professional, all I could think of was working at the DEC camps, because it's the perfect job to compliment my B.S. degree in outdoor ed., and personal accomplishments, well I told him about the kid I sponsored and having Realtree stuff donated to me to give the kid. Other questions were like talents, things related to teaching, a couple scenarios of what would you do if...of which the one was what would you do on al esson if some kids were bugging each other etc...I gave him my response, then he asked me if it's happened before and I was like oh ya, then he asked how it usually turned out. So last night I thought "what if he thought it was bad to hear I've had those situations before...maybe he thinks I'm a bad teacher" lol:rolleyes: Then at the end he asked about my specifiying health director or counselor on the resume, told him health director was 1st choice. He was going to actually send me an email packet with stuff relating to camp health dept. stuff, and he asked me if I was aware of the health inspector visiting camp frequently over the summer, I said yes I am (duh...and you never know if she's in a good move or bad). I've got to send him 3 references and then just wait. Probably won't know until the budget comes out for the DEC...which it's been April previously...I hope it's not that long! I'll be happy with either position I get....Health Director would allow me to have my own cabin, lol, and alot of free time which I would spend helping out where ever. Of course then, I wouldn't be going on trips with kids and all those good things, I'll be at camp...so it would be a big step up, but sad at the same time. I leave it in God's hands and I told him yesterday, said a prayer and told God whatever position I get is His will and I'll go with it. Ok, I'm done, I've rambled too long:eek:

Turkeygirl
To answer your question Adjam, I put in for Rushford since it's close to home...told him that but he wanted to know what my rank would be for the other camps so I told him...but Rushford is #

PotashRLS
Don't worry, be Happy:D A lot of interviews judge heavily on first impressions because interviewees are similarly qualified. I'm sure your personality would shine through.
