RangerClay
Blake, with all of your fame and fortune. Plus having Miranda Lambert on your arm. I figured you would have everything to live for. So why don't you wear a safety harness? Without giving away the details of the show. I just watched the first episode of Bone Collectors and it painfully obvious that he is not wearing one. Michael Waddell is wearing his. With Hunter Safety Systems being one of the major sponsors of the show, you would think that they would give him one. The way Blake is dancing around in the treestand, he is one slip from ruining his career.

Thanks Luke but I'm not trying to start a rukus. The question was for others to learn from. As I told my wife as she watched the show with me. I wouldn't trade his forture & fame for the love of my kids. If one person here reads this and buys a harness I will be happy. I just couldn't believe that he didn't have one. And BTW, thanks again Chris and Gary for twisting my arm years ago to wear a harness. I think of you two everytime I put it on.

layin on the smackdown
I noticed that as well...i was kind of thinking "hmmm, wonder what kind of harness he has that doesn't attach to his upper body???"....especially with all his bouncing around and everything....gotta wear those vests;)
stevebeilgard
good post, joe. and a good point. yet, some folks still dont wear a seat belt in their car.... just plain crazy to me. that said, we still, for now, live in a free country and i respect their right to do as they please. i just don't want to hear the grumping when something goes wrong. simply put, i want the survivors to sit in their wheelchair and shut up. VermontHunter
Actually Steve I think it's law in all 50 states to wear a seatbelt or face a fine and points on you license .. See where I'm going with this one ..

LOL--You're welcome Joe. Eventually talked Tom into wearing one too. Like I told you and him "I didn't beat cancer 5 times to fall out of a tree..." See where I'm going with this one .. i know it's illegal to not wear a seat belt. and i know it's illegal to drive drunk. i'm saying that there are thousands of deaths each year by folks who drive without a seat belt. and yes, thousands more because they drove drunk. every day folks "take the chance". some get lucky and others die. i respect their right to make the decision, even though i disagree with their bad choice. and i have shallow sympathy for any of those who break the law and lose. i also respect your opportunity to build a camp fire in your living room. as long as you know the possible end result and want to take the risk, roast a marshmallow for me. this is a free country. lol even if one is free to be bumb. Ohiobucks
LOL--You're welcome Joe. Eventually talked Tom into wearing one too. Like I told you and him "I didn't beat cancer 5 times to fall out of a tree..." It's not like I wasn't wearing one to begin with, I've always worn the single strap that all the treestand manufacturers used to send with a stand. It took one incident while I was coming down the tree in my climbing stand, I didn't get hurt, but that was by the grace of God. I've worn a harness ever since. The_Kat
good post....I wear one not from fear of getting hurt. I'm scared to death of heights and the safety harness helps me feel a lil more secure, but I am very figidity regardless.
HUNTINGMAN
I didnt even notice he did not have one on,it looked like the back of his vest said rivers edge on it,isnt that the name of a tree stand company. If so maybe he had a harness on and it was one that no one recognized. If I am wrong sorry,I was looking at his deer more than I was looking at him. Agreed. People have the right to make bad choices, but please don't complain when they bite you in the backside.
wtnhunt
Have not seen the show yet Joe, will have to catch the show and see whhat you are talking about. But yeah, I would agree, he should be wearing one, if at the very least to set a good example for those who are watching the show.

Or to look out for his fans so we won't have to watch him live the rest of his life Christopher Reeve style:rolleyes:. I would think a celebrity of high value would be more cautious than usual. Especially one doing as good as Blake has been doing.
