GWSmith
Since this is the first time I've been lucky enough to acquire one...I have a question on how to clean a used Bullet. The Bullet was recovered from just under the hide, on the far side, of a deer my Father took on ThanksGiving Day this past year. It's already been boiled for about an hour and any flesh I could get picked off from it with tweezers...but that's all that has been done to it. I'd say it's got about 80-90% of the "Mushroom" intact and by the way it looks to me I think it would make a nice suprise for Dad to have it done up right. My intention is to get it as clean as possible then have it possibly put into some type of mounting...possibly have it suspended in a small block of that clear stuff they make those laser etchings from(dont know what it's called). Any Suggestions are welcome...Thanks!
snapper
I never really look for my bullet, but I have found a few in the past. I soaked it in hydrogen proxide for a bit before boiling it.
GWSmith
Thanks Snapper...do you think dipping it in that stuff to clean silver(Tarnex) would work too or would it harm the Bullet??? snapper
Don't really know if that stuff would harm the lead of the bullet or not?
Flintlock1776
It should not, it is lead. I found them on very few occasions. I meant to keep them but............
