i was recently out with my cousin hunting ducks and geese. we seen a couple teal and mallards but they were to far up for a shot we started to see geese. the nwe decide to go check out another spot when we saw a lone goose swimming in the river we snuck over it flew up at like ten yards i shot twice and i knew i hit it both times but it didnt die. i was shooting winchester 3 inch loads with 2 shot which was meant for ducks. what bullets would you recomend for both duck and geese cause they are both in my aera.

I like those Black Clouds by federal I shoot #2's but Ive never shot at any geese with them with their fs steel fancky looking shot junk it should take one out to problem....at 10 yards with #2's? that goose should have died....they fly a little faster than you would think are you sure you hit it???

#2 should have killed a goose that close---just remember aim for the head---it's tough to knock them down with a body shot unless you break a wing.

thats exactly it...ive been hunting ducks and geese for over 20 years, and a body shot on a goose with # 2's this time of year at 10 yds won't do it (most of the time)...not with steel. gotta hit em in the head or wing...

The problem most people have, and its hard to break,i did it for years, is seeing the bird as a whole target...you gotta look past the entire body and focus on the head and neck...if you can, block out the body and think the head is a clay pigeon, lead it as such, and you'll dust em everytime.;)

good luck...were out of birds and time:(
