Welcome Ryan. There is quite a lot of debate on here about that. It is definitely a concern. I think we are looking at a lot of attempts to legislate it out, and it will not be without a fight that it remains. Stick around. Many of the people on here will often post things we all need to be concerned about. Welcome again!

And yes, what do you think?

Ha. Dude...it's the 2nd Constitutional Amendment of the United States of America. As far as I know, in the history of our Nation, no President has taken away a Constitutional right.

I think we're safe.

On a postive note, during Presidential addresses, we'll actually hear words pronounced correctly now. So we got that goin' for us.

the second ammendment RIGHT was almost taken away from us last year. remember, 4 out of 9 supreme court justices said it should go. obama is total anti gun and anti hunting. literally every vote he's made has been against guns. expect the appointment of anti gun supreme court justices very soon. remember, the liberals have told us for years that the constitution is " a living, breathing document, subject to change". bull. it's the best document in the world and established the greatest nation in the world, and no human being today is capable of changing a letter in that document.

i expect attempt after attempt to take away our guns. not because of obama, but because the liberals cannot advance their socialist agenda when folks can protect themselves. for a very recent history, just go back 30 years to england, france, germany, new zealand, austrailia, and a bunch more. they gave up their freedom and are socialist today. then check their national statistics: ie:unemployment, interest, prices, taxes, etc. now, compare that to the "evil" bush administration. i don't like bush one little bit, but he's sure better than the alternatives.....

But never before were we faced with such a compilation of staunch openly anti-gun anti-hunting so called leaders. I have a friend who takes the same stand you do and I tell him this.......your complacentcy and "they can't take that away from us" attitude is exactly what they are relying upon. They CAN take it away and they have been and currently are planning on how they are going to do it.

Sadly my friend openly voted for Obama because his family is deep in the UAW. He is not and never was, but his Dad, who is long since dead, told him years ago how to vote.

When you vote, there is no "I" in team. If you use the words "they can't take guns from US", the word us is a team word. When you vote, you must choose what team you are on because the line is very clearly drawn in the sand. I would like think many others feel as I do.

I believe the impetus for increased gun control (losing our 2nd Amendment rights) will come from Congress, not the Whitehouse. However, I also believe that President-elect Obama will willingly sign into law any and all such legislation that passes across his desk.

That's why it is vital that we all establish communications with our Representatives and Senators, and let them know where we stand on these issues. Once a piece of gun control legislation leaves Congress, they have a rubber stamp of approval waiting. It's in Congress that we will win or lose this battle.

Supreme Court ruled last year that (subject to change from future Supreme Courts) they can't arbitrarily legislate the 2nd Amendement (the second most important amendment to the founding fathers) away. What they (socialists) will do is tax it away. Increase taxes on guns and ammo to the point the average American can't afford to own/buy or possess.

Remember the BostonTea Party?

Remember Red Dawn?

And, I'm not a right wing extremists.

But, I can change.

I personally think our right to bear arms will be with us for quite some time.

In some shape or form you are probably right Chris, the problem is that some(most) of the liberal lawmakers have every intention of changing the 2nd ammendment in ways it was not intended to be changed.

Remember the War Between The States. This happened because the South did not like the president that got elected. Long four bloody years, could history repeat itself?

The 2nd Ammendment will remain. But expect it to be the liberals' version of such.

Obama is anti-gun through and through. Although he lies about it......his voting record cannot be disputed.

As some have mentioned......our loss of gun rights will not be realized in one fell swoop. Our rights will be lost to the "deathy of a thousand slices". Heck........the slices started ages ago. It'll just be worse under Yo'mama.

Others have mentioned the Supreme Court ruling that affirmed our 2nd Ammendment rights. Realize this..........it was a 5-4 decision in our favor. Barry's going to be making an appointment or two for the Supreme Court. don't think for a second he's not gonna appoint activist judges who will legislate from the bench. Hillary Klinton and Charles Schumer are two very viable candidates for the position. Love George W. Bush........hate George W. Bush or couldn't care less about George W. Bush........understand that it was a justice appointed by George W. Bush that swung the vote in the favor of the Constitution.

We're in for a looooooooong haul with these boneheads about to take the wheel of our nation. My money is that in 4 years there's going to be a lot of former Yo'mama supporters wishing they had W. back.
