Nut
My son Martin's high school team qualified for the National NASP tournement in Louisville,Ky in May. His teammate Kelsey finished first and should be a contender for the national title while still being a freshman. Martin did a 253/300 not bad for not practicing much because of wrestling While at the state tournement he saw Arnold Schwarzenegger because this was part of the Arnold Sports Festival. NASP is National Archery in School's Program.
The_Kat
Shot a little better at Gander tonight, turned in a 179 outta 200. Still waiting on the pro elite to get repaired...........
hutchies
I shot like.................well lets just say bad. 174.............Got in a group with a bunch of people that were all around the ring but could never find it. When I was the first person to shoot I nailed the 10 ring everytime. Guess they were shooting those magnetic arrows. On a side note..............I did finally chrono my Apex 7 to see where I was at for shooting ASA 3d...........It chrono'd at 279 with the bow set a 61 lbs and a 363 grain Goldtip XT 5575. These arrows have wraps, blazers, and 100 point in them. I have 6 more to cut down and I am going to put mini blazers and 85 grain points in them. They should weigh 340 and put me a 283. Will still have an 11% FOC so they should still fly well. Edited March 10, 2009 by hutchies
The_Kat
I woulda shot better had it not been for the draw length . One more day baby! Oh....hutch, 174 is not shooting like crap.....166 is crap.
Gator
Shot my first ASA style course today. First round didn't go so good, ended up with a 171, even missed a target, which I just don't do, but it happens. Target was 30, and looked 25, still looked 25 second time I went through. Second round shot a 192. Had about 4-5 12's both times. Yardage estimating is decent, just having trouble holding on the target. That will get better the more haven't been doing much of. May try and hit a range tomorrow that just opened up. If not, I'll be at Deep Fork next weekend to bust some foam.
The_Kat
Well I shot my ASA state qualifyer today. I'm pretty sick with myself.....I shot pretty well all day, and on the 2nd to last target I decided to try for a 14. Shot it half and inch high and got a 5. Needless to say I got 4th place.....with a 188. The target was a gimme 10 ring at 22 yards which is why I thought to try a 14. Now for the sickening part....First place shot a 192. If I shoot a ten instead of a five there I win..........I'm so stupid! Oh well, at least I qualifyed for state.
Gator
Good shooting Kyle!!!!! I shot a new range today in Tecumseh. 25 Targets finished 25 down, but when I left it was good enough for first place. We'll see if that stands. My left and right is ALOT better, except for on one target, and I knew when I shot I miffed it. Gotta work on my yardage though. But that will come in time. This was only my third time on a range in almost a year.
The_Kat
Shot gander mtn tonight....turned in 2nd highest score of the night and the entire league thus far at 188. I was pretty pleased. I only lost to the semi pro Jame Jamison by two. I also got my thumb release.....I begin work with it tomorrow!

The_Kat
what did you end up with?
Gator
Shot one of my favorite courses yesterday. ended up 186, with two fives. One was yardage, and the other I flinched or something, I'm not sure. I feel good with what I shot, no complaints. Paris is in two weeks, so I just need yardage work. Okbwhtr
Had some luck this weekend Had one my best wins ever. Great shoot down that handled myself well. I never shot anything less than a ten in 20 shots in the shootdowns. Hit this 14ring on the last shot to nail the win. $250.00 and a beautifull belt buckle. Cant wait for Paris. Love the Elite bows.
