Tominator
239,000+ deer killed in Ohio with about a month of season left. Previous record was 237K. Deer slayer Ohiobucks has accounted for 5 of them so far. . I've only got 2, but my 2 weigh more than all 5 of his combined. I thought the numbers were kind of odd, because, personally, I did not see the numbers of deer that I have in the past.
Gator
Proof positive that Oihio is where it's at. And before you say it, Oklahoma usually has around 100,000 deer taken during the season

ruttinbuc
That is a lot of deer for a state of that size. Seems like anyway...
HUNTINGMAN
The kdfwr says that it is the third highest harvest for ky this year, they must be counting all the road killed deer also for there has not been many deer seen or killed where I hunt.I sure wish I had a place in ohio to hunt, some nice deer come from that state and it is just a short drive away. WHISKEYSWAMP
Personally, I hope they lower the amount of deer aloud in Ohio... not seeing the deer that I use to. I've taken three does this year but all off different properties. I'll still be after a buck until the end of bow season.
Straight Shooter
I think a big difference was the 15.00 doe tag. Hunters being able to buy those tags after the first 24.00 was bought, letting them hand on to their buck tag longer and shooting more doe's. Even buying the 3 tags at 15.00 a hunter still came out better than buying the remaining two 24.00 dollar tags. I think ODNR should have made the hunters buy all three 24.00 tags first and then be permitted to by the 15.00 tags. JMO
Ohiobucks
Deer slayer Ohiobucks has accounted for 5 of them so far. . I've only got 2, but my 2 weigh more than all 5 of his combined. Did you see that doe I shot on the opener of muzzleloader season? Oh that's right, that was the day you stood me up..... That was a big momma. I'd bet her, along with the decent doe I shot during shotgun season and the 3 other dogs combined would almost weigh as much as that ga- I mean green jacket buck you shot back in October. I hope they lower the limit as well. Just didn't see the quantity of deer this year compared to the years past. Of course, we've been shooting alot, I mean ALOT of does over the last 5 years. And by "We've", I don't mean Chris.

ruttinbuc
Deer sightings have decreased here for the past six years or so since they increased the doe limits in all of the seasons. Hope it doesn't happen to Ohio. People think because the law says you can kill that many you should....
WHISKEYSWAMP
Also, I've heard the DNR has wanted to cut the deer population in half... looks like they are on there way to doing so. I set a limit on myself to kill one doe on the properties I hunt. Unfortunately a couple other hunters have gone overboard this year. Next year, if I don't see a good number of deer, I'll just eat my tags.
NiteRunner
I too have seen a big decrease in the amount of deer around. I had said before that they needed to give us an extra Doe tag. Which they did at $24. We seen a slight decrease in deer after that, but not like now with the $15 tags. Took a pretty big hit on the deer if you ask me. I live by Amish country and they wack and stack so many deer that it is not funny at all.
Guest CSRoth
Surprisingly deer numbers are still good here. I killed three does the first five days bow hunting, saw a ton of deer. I bow hunted in my stand probably 25 times saw a ton of does every night could have killed a does just about every night if i wanted to. Passed on about 35 bucks before shooting mine probably 20 different some were repeats. But its still nothing to drive down the roads and see 50 to a 100 deer any given evening. I took Christine out for gun season and muzzleloader we saw a ton of deer but she just didnt connect missed quite a few i guess second year jitters had froze up on a 150 inch ten point and missed a few does. One of the farms ive hunted for ten years is having a problem with so many does that he is charging a $100 deposit to hunt and if you shoot a doe he will give you your money back. But i also think the high limits will hurt us if they keep the limit up.
