jbeck
I watached one of the hunting shows a while back where Kasey Kahne killed a deer with a cow tag in it's ear in texas inside a high fence under a feeder. To me that just is not hunting, if you feed them and treat them like farm animals, it just does not seem like sport? $5 grand to kill a big buck? i noticed in the when he held the deer up the tag had been removed. It does not make sense to me, and why the fascination with deer? If your going to hunt farm animals inside a fence why not a real nice quality Black Angus? I've eaten black angus raised in a fence, we even butchered it ourselfs, I couldn't tell the difference in fenced raised beef or wild beef. Illinois59
Legal? That's all that matters. BTW, fenced beef is better.

bowhuntnsmycrack
tell you what that fallow deer tastes so much better then beef, the boar tastes so much better then a regular pig, and these exotic animals do not have tags in there ears(red deer, fallow deer, sika deer)the elk dont have tags in there ears either. the only animals on the game ranchthat have tags are the boar
hoosierhunter
Not sure if I posted in this thread or not, but I used to be completely against high fenced hunting of any sort. Just 3 weeks ago I went to Missouri to hunt Russian Boars on a 500 acre high fenced ranch. These hogs were as wild as they get in my opinion. We took 7 hunters and killed 4 hogs in 3 days....Now he had other animals on the ranch that behaved much more tame than these hogs. The key is that those hogs were reproducing on the ranch and the other exotics were not. So if somebody has a large fenced area where the animals are reproducing then I will hunt them....If they are released the night before like so many are then I will not hunt them.....
