I just went up there and found out that the posted signs that were there about 5 years ago aren't there anymore, also found out that the Wildlife Department was notified that there was a black bear in the area. So it possibly could have been the WD themselves...

I very much doubt that any DNR warden or technician or biologist or whatever would be doing anything with bears at night with dogs. And for what reason anyway? I assume you have some bears around making it a somewhat common thing? Contact Law Enforcement and you'll easily find out some answers. You most likely have poachers/trespassers affecting your area.

No bears are not really common around here and rumor is they have a tracking collar on it.....I heard about the bear about 3 weeks ago, and dogs is how people find bears around here....probably coon hunters like I stated earlier but the bear thing is just a thought

Yep sure is, I'm gonna look into it very seriously anyone else ever been through this?

Yup! Had a deer shot on our land right in front of me this past year. DNR didn't seem too excited that I witnessed trespassing and abandonment of game. Good luck gettin the law dogs on this one. Our land is sorrounded by barbed wire as well.

Knowing that you just moved into that land last year, I wonder if maybe those guys have permission to coon hunt your land from the ex land owners. I know that we allow a guy to coon hunt our land(outside of deer season), maybe that could be the answer.

Especially if your camera is not an infared. Looks like the people would've tried to erase their image or grab your memory card if they knew their picture was taken.

If you got pics of their faces take the pics to your local law enforcement agency and also provide those pics to the wildlife agency. Get them for trespassing. Some places land does not have to be posted in order to prosecute, hunters are supposed to know where they do and do not have permission to be.

On the camera, if they want it they will get it, someone who will trespass is not morally or ethically correct, those are the same types who will steal and poach. Bolt cutters are not too heavy to carry.

Yeah I know and its also why I moved it off that part of the land today, back to the beat thing there is a bunch of neighbors that have had their trash torn into here lately including mine. I just thought it was a coon or possum or something but the guy who told me about the collar told me yesterday that he had seen big tracks around his garbage, so I'm about 100% sure there is a bear in the area although I don't know why one wouldnt be hibernating right now. I took my camera to his garbage pile today gonna find out what this mystery being is.

Here are the pictures I got of the guys on our property, and the second dog right behind them. What does it look like to you guys what they are doing?

I have tried using my camera's to try and catch tresspassers. Only to have two of them stolen in four years. One was in a cuddieback bear safe lag bolted to the tree. They must of came back with a cordless saw as they cut down the back of the box and through the bolts. I hate thieves. Good luck, I hope this works for you. They may be shed hunters. We get more tresspassers during shed season than any other time of the year.

Well Will, that could explain a lack of deer on your cam...you had my hamster workin over time tryin to figure out why you werent gettin any pics.....that never crossed my mind...you might want to try and take a passive approach and talk to em before bringing in the law. just a suggestion. good luck, and thats always a crappy suprise.

what is all that equipment on that guys hip anyway? look like grenades...bear spray? ive never coon hunted or bear hunted so i wouldn't know.

Look like coon hunters to me. You're lucky to still have your camera.

Yep, probably pretty lucky.

One thing is for certain, those are not your wildlife folks. Possible they may have followed the dogs and that they may not have any bad intentions, still would not hurt to let them know in the event you can catch up with them that they are trespassing and you do not want them there.
