HarvDog
Just found this recipe and can't WAIT to try it... BBQ Venison Roast 2 cans (12oz) carbonated cola (your choice and I'm considered something like Cherry Coke and Ginger Ale) 2/3 cup worcestershire sauce 3-4 venison roast 1 med onion sliced 1/2 cup water 1/4 tsp pepper 1 cup bbq sauce Combine cola and worcestershire sauce in a large sealable plastic bag. Mix. Add roast to bag. Refrigerate for 4 hours turning occasionally. Discard marinade. Heat oven 325. Spray roasting pan with non-stick spray. Add roast. Add onion and water. Sprinkle roast with pepper evenly. Cover with foil and lid. Bake 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours basting 2 -3 times. Let stand for 10 minutes. Drain. Cut into slices. Return to pan. Pour bbq sauce over meat. Bake covered 20 - 30 minutes. Serve over mashed potatoes.

Weldergirl2.0
Good recipe, but roast still tough I tried this recipe and it came out really good. I used Dr. Pepper for the soda in the marinade, and the BBQ sauce i used was Kraft Hickory BBQ sauce. Although my roast was still a little tough any suggestions on how to make it more tender? woolybear
Wow, this post was ressurected from the archives. Welcome to RT Weldergirl. All my roasts are slow cooked in a crockpot. You can't go wrong that way. Juicy and melt in your mouth delishious.
