snapper
Anyone have any experiences with the Model 16FSS in either a .300WSM or 7MM WSM? My brother is looking at this gun and wasn't sure if its what he wants or not. I told him dollar for dollar...I'd buy a Savage any day...but have no experience with this model. I also seen they (Savage) has a new model the 16FCSAK for this year. Only real difference I see is the detachable mag and adjustable muzzle brake. Any comments would be appreciated. AJ
Re: Savage Weather Warrior Series? You got it Buddy! I agree 100%. My favorite Savage was the 16BSS or the 116BSS. These were the Weather Warrior with the laminated stock. Unfortunately, they do not have them listed on their website for 2005. I would not expect the WSM versions to be any different than the other calibers.
WABS
Re: Savage Weather Warrior Series? I just purchased a Weather Warrior, black synthetic stock, SS barrel about a month ago. I bought the package so I got the scope on it, however I've replaced it with a Leupold and put the one from the Savage on my ML. I've only shot a half a box of ammo through it yet, but so far I've been impressed. Especially with the trigger.
JimT
Re: Savage Weather Warrior Series? My buddy has the one with the ported barrell in 30/06. I think it is the fss something of another. His does not have the accu trigger.... -Awsome- rifle. It shoots great, is not that heavy, and feels good. This guys sells and buys guns all the time. He has kept his Weather Warrior for years now. Mostly hunts with just this rifle. He bet while in a drunked stuper one night at bear camp that he could shoot the cap off from a soda bottle first shot. The next afternoon he did it first shot and collected his 30 pack. lol... {We were sober the next day. No shooting while drinking at camp.} I will own a Weather Warrior some day. Tell your brother to buy it.

snapper
Re: Savage Weather Warrior Series? Thanks for the reply's...I'm not sure he's made up his mind yet. Now he's looking at other guns. He wants Stainless, Snyth. stock, in either a .300 WSM or 7MM WSM and try to stay under $500.

[/ QUOTE ] Staying under the $500.00 budget will be tough unless he gets the Savage or buys a used gun.

JimT
Re: Savage Weather Warrior Series? Does the 710 come in ss? I do not ever recall seeing one.
AJ
Re: Savage Weather Warrior Series? Nope, the 710 does not come in stainless. Its the el cheapo bottom of the line, no frills, Rem deer rifle. I am not saying it is not any good, just a plain jane inexpensive rifle. I would be very suprised if they ever offer it in stainless. It is also not yet available in the WSM or SAUM chamberings.
