I'm starting this one Friday................it's the only one where I can eat all the time and lose weight. :)Was devised for patients about to undergo heart surgery.

INGREDIENTS FOR BASIC FAT BURNING SOUP

6 large green onions

2 green peppers

1 or 2 cans of tomatoes

1 bunch of celery

1 large head cabbage

1 pkg. Lipton Soup Mix

INSTRUCTIONS Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces and cover with water. Season with salt, pepper, parsley, and if desired add curry, bullion or hot sauce. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Cut to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This SOUP will not add calories. The more you eat the more you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. If eaten alone for indefinite periods, you would suffer malnutrition.

DAY ONE:

All the fruits except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. For drinks unsweetened tea, cranberry juice and water.

DAY TWO:

All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh raw, cooked or canned vegetables. Try to eat leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat along with the soup. At dinner time on this day, reward yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Do not eat any fruit.

DAY THREE:

Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want. Do not have a baked potato. If you have eaten for three days, - as above, and have not cheated, you will have lost 5 to 7 pounds.

DAY FOUR:

Bananas and skim milk. Eat as many as 3 bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can on this day along with the soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates and so is the milk, but on this particular day your body will need the potassium, the carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lessen your craving for sweets.

DAY FIVE:

Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water this day to wash away the uric acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once this day.

DAY SIX:

Beef and vegetables. Eat till your heart’s content of the beef and veggies this day. Be sure and eat the soup at least once.

DAY SEVEN:

Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and vegetables. -Again stuff yourself. Be sure to have the soup at least once. At the end of the seventh day, if you have not cheated on the diet, you will have lost 10 to 17 pounds. If YOU have lost more than 15 pounds, stay off the diet for two days before resuming the diet again for day one.

This seven day eating plan can be used as often as you like. As a matter of fact, if correctly followed it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well—being as never before. After only seven days on this program1 you will begin to feel lighter and have an abundance of energy. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference. Because everyone’s digestive system is different, this diet will affect everybody differently. After day three you will have more energy than when you began if you did not cheat. After being on the diet for several days, you will find your bowel movement might have changed…………eat a cup of bran or fiber. Although you can have black coffee with this diet you will find that you don’t need the caffeine after the third day.

DEFINITE NO-NO’S

Bread, alcohol, carbonated drinks (including diet drinks). Stick with water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, unsweetened fruit juices, cranberry juice and skimmed milk. The basic fat burning soup can be eaten anytime you feel hungry. Eat as much as you wish remember the more you eat, the more you lose. No fried foods or bread. You can eat broiled or baked chicken instead of beef but absolutely not the skin of the chicken. Any prescribed medication will not hurt you with this diet. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference both mentally and physically. If you prefer you can substitute broiled fish for the beef on one of the beef days. You need the protein from the beef the other days.

I'm dieting Andrea.

I do not see any venison on that diet. Can it sub for beef?

I have 6 deer in the freezer...When can I get to eat them?:D

Always thought that I didn't need a diet, just eat less/better and exercise more.

I might give this a shot, even though I don't like onions.

Thanks.

Anthony

Not sure, but I'll definitely be subbing the beef for venison. :)

Good Luck...there are other diets that you can eat all you want. I lost 63lbs using this diet and I was never hungry. It got to the point where I had to force myself just to eat.

You'll likely spend the first week or two close to the bathroom though:D

BREAKFAST: 1/2 grapefruit or 8oz unsweetened juice. 2 Eggs any style 2 Slices of bacon Black coffee or tea, no sugar

LUNCH: 1/2 grapefruit or 8oz unsweetened juice. Salad and or raw veggies (any dressing, {not low fat or fat free}) Meat (Cooked any way)

DINNER: 1/2 grapefruit or 8oz unsweetened juice. Meat (cooked any way) Vegetables (any green or red, may be cooked in butter or Seasoning or a salad as above) Black coffee or tea, no sugar

BEDTIME: (opt) 8oz Tomato juice or skim milk

INSTRUCTIONS: 1. At any meal you may eat until you are full, and you can not eat anymore. You must eat the minimum listed listed at each meal. 2. Do not eliminate anything from the diet, especially don't skip the bacon at breakfast or omit salads. It is the combination of foods that burn the fat. 3. The grapefruit is important because it acts as a catalyst that starts the burning process. 4. Cut down on coffee, it affects the insulin balance that hinders the burning process. Try to limit to one cup each meal. 5. Don't eat between meals, if you eat the combination of food suggested, you will not get hungry. 6. The diet may eliminate sugars and starches. Fat does not form fat, it helps burn it, so you can fry food in butter and use butter generously on vegetables. 7. Do not eat desserts, breads and white vegetables of sweet potatoes. You may double or triple helpings of meat, salads or vegetables. Eat till you are stuffed. The more you eat the more weight you will lose. 8. There may be no weight loss in the first 4 days, but you may lose 5 pounds on the 5th day. You may lose 1 and 1/2 pounds every two days until you reach your goal. 9. DRINK EIGHT 8oz GLASSES OF WATER EVERY DAY. 1/2 GALLON.

THIS DIET IS SAID TO BEEN GIVEN TO HEART PATIENTS NEEDING TO LOSE WEIGHT FAST FOR BY-PASS SURGERY.

ALL SOFT DRINKS NEED TO BE DIET AND CAFFEINE FREE.

YOU MAY NOT HAVE: White onions, potatoes, celery, peas, cereal, carrots, corn, starchy vegetables, bread, noodles, rice, potato chips, pretzels or fruit or diet dressing.

YOU MAY HAVE: Red onions, bell peppers, radishes, broccoli, cucumbers, green onions, leaf spinach, cabbage, tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, chili (no beans) mayonnaise, any cheese, hot dogs, cole slaw, regular salad dressing, green vegetables, 1tsp nuts, dill or bread and butter pickles.

IMPORTANT

STAY ON DIET 12 DAYS AND STOP FOR 2 DAYS

Works out great to start on a Monday because you will have every other weekend off of the diet.

That doesn't seem too bad. But if you're expecting to lose 5-7 in three days like that suggests I think you'll be disappointed.

I just find those sorts of things unrealistic to stick with. At the very least with a diet like that, I'd definitely supplement with a good multivitamin each morning.

Really, the key is monitoring your caloric intake, and burning off calories through exercise throughout the day.

I just eat small meals throughout the course of the day and avoid fried foods. A banana or fruit for breakfast, sandwich and yogurt at lunch, and than a small-portioned meal. I jog to burn the calories.

It's really hard to drop weight by diet alone. I'm not saying it can't be done, but diet and exercise is the way to get results. I know you don't like to run, so I'd suggest you find some exercise you enjoy. Maybe biking or swimming?

Just my 2 cents- but the diet looks pretty good.

I have dropped over 50 pounds and have put some back on!

All I did was watch my "carb" intake and the portion size of what I did eat.

I am going to cut back again and hope to drop another 30 pounds.

We eat fish, chicken, pork and buffalo all week long. We also eat a vegetable dish with the meat.

Check out recipes from "Light and Tasty" cookbooks. Excellent tasting food and you will see what is in loaded in each recipe!

No diet pills and I drop between 2 to 5 pounds per week! I also excercise 2 times a week at a physical therapy place.

Baby steps.:p;) lol. Guess you could say I am kind of dieting Andrea. I need to lose about 15 lbs to be back to a comfortable weight.

Have cut out the soda and other sweetened drinks other than my morning coffee here. Hoping to cut back my coffee to no more than 2 cups a day in the spring. Drinking water throughout the day and taking multi vitamins and extra vitamin c at lunch time. Have not changed what I am eating much yet, but might have to if cutting the sugar back does not get me where I want to be.

A few years back I had lost 90 pounds but unfortunately in the past year and a half I have found 30 pounds of it again. :( I'm getting married in June so I need to lose weight. :p I don't consider it "going on a diet" or "dieting" because to me, I'm setting myself up for failure. I simply cut down on my portions and watch what I eat. I stopped drinking pop/soda over 4 years ago, so that's not even an issue. I only drink skim milk, water, and rarely orange juice. :D In doing what I said above, along with going for a short brisk walk each day, I've already lost 3-4 pounds in only a week. It can be done.. just have to stick with it.

My fiance (total disaster here on RT) has made me a $100 bet on my weight loss which is even more of an incentive to drop the pounds. ;):D

Good luck to all of you! We should have a thread of some sort to post our progress! :D

I am on the "less than 800 calories a day for 5 days a week" diet along with excersise 3 days a week for a half hour...it worked great for me in college. That might be why i lost weight in college instead of gaining weight. Did it for about 8 weeks and lost 15-20 lbs. I plan on being down to my normal frame of 180 lbs by April 1st. currently i think i am about 200-205 so we'll see how it goes. This diet almost entirely eliminates beer consumption, with the exception of the 2 days that i can exceed 800 calories. will keep ya posted.;)

Well, I'm on a weight gain program. After 31 years of not having a single allergy that I was aware of, or really affected me for that matter, found out I was severely allergic to grass (I'm a landscaper ), dogs (have 3), and dust (it's everywhere!). While trying to figure out what was wrong with my system (very tired all the time and not much of an appetite) I lost about 15 pounds! Since I got back from Montana in November however, I have been hitting the weights hard and getting plenty of protein in my system and have gained almost 10 of it back. But all that being said, about 12 years ago I lost 55 pounds, on a diet that I created for myself, and have been able to keep it off ever since. If anyone wants some help or encouragement feel free to send me a PM. I'm a certified physical trainer and have a pretty good knowledge of nutrition. Good luck everyone!

I'm trying to lose the 15 pounds I put on over the holidays. I will get back on my normal regiment and I will shed them off shortly.

My normal day.

Breakfast: Oatmeal with a little maple syrup.

Lunch: Something venison. Pulled venison sandwiches, venison chili, venison veggy soup, or something like that.

Dinner: Whatever I feel like but in moderation.

Wine only on the weekends. I had almost a bottle a day for over a week. It certainly goes to your waist fast.

I wish all that are dieting the best...its very hard because its just like stopping any habit.

I don't get on here very much because of time at work & home, but I wanted to take time to respond to this post. I've been dieting for the past 6 1/2 months, but I'm taking Adepex (not sure if its spelled right). I was 282 1/2 lbs & only 5ft 9in. tall. I was a biggen. I found out that I was going to be a dad and had to do something. I wanted to make sure I'm around for my son. I'm down to 200lbs starting 2009 (82 1/2lbs)!
