rhine16
Get the cams out to see what made it through the season Plant summer plots Get the cams back out around July to see what is hanging around. Start prepping my fall plots around that same time. Will start hanging and moving stands in August and try to be through 2 weeks prior to season opener. MUDRUNNER
Get the cams out to see what made it through the season Plant summer plots Get the cams back out around July to see what is hanging around. Start prepping my fall plots around that same time. Will start hanging and moving stands in August and try to be through 2 weeks prior to season opener. That sounds identical to what i do till next season.I plan to do some serious scounting in February to scope out new stands locations for next year.Hopefully I can get the majority of the spots picked out and lanes trimmed before the spring green up. I usually shoot in a spring bow league too.
HUNTINGMAN
I replinish the mineral licks, turkey hunt during april and after that stay out of the woods and start fishing.
BobRooney
get fat Besides getting fat... I'm going to do alot more scouting this year. Now until the end of febuary I will be trying to capture the big boys, that made it, on camera. Conditioning the deer to come up away from the only piece of land I can't hunt in a half mile. Shed hunting in march & april(or whenever cams tell me it's time)...Hanging stands and clearing shooting lanes in May...cams back out late June unless I suspect trespassers of course...Right now, I just bought my new Plat book and I'm knocking on doors trying to secure new land so that I don't overhunt my "honey hole". Guest Primetime/IL
As soon as season ends, it is the best time to get out and scout. Other then that I take down stands, shed hunt and do more scouting in late summer.
Zambo
I agree with Primetime. I scout with camera's and do a lot of shed hunting. In late spring it's time to start looking for morels.
Jorden
I put out trail cam and occansionally shed hunt but I hate the period between the end of deer season and the start of spring because it sucks to be outside, its cold...I much perfer the warm weather. Once spring and summer come we plant food plots and evaluate stand locations for the next season.

fly
No paintball for me. I do all the "stuff" I put off during the season. Last year I planned and did a spring bear hunt in Idaho. This year it's not going to happen so I'm working overload. One new thing: I'm holding the first annual "Off Season Depression Dinner" in late Feb. when the depression really hits home. Me my dad, cousin, and a few friends who hunt will be headed to my dad's place in the country for an evening of story sharing, deer chili and sausage, a blackpowder shooting contest, and showing off our deer mounts. Hope it's as fun as I anticipate.
Tecumseh
Our deer season doesn't end till Feb 1 I'm going to try and fill my last tag next weekend. After that get ready for turkey season, fish and shoot skeet and sporting clays when I get the time. buckbuster11
Our deer season ends tomorrow and I can't wait. I'm getting the cams back out there this weekend to start finding out what has survived the season. I'm looking for a couple individual bucks in particular. I'll do a bunch of scouting and shed hunting through the winter. Late March through May will be dedicated to turkeys and once that is over, it's full blown deer hunting preparations leading up until the start of the season. bluedog
Squirrel season runs through the end of January. Rabbit season runs through the end of February. If it's too snowy for either one of those, there is always cross country skiing. March starts the main shed hunting season. April/May is turkey hunting. Then it's time to concentrate on farming/raising chickens/etc. I've never done this before, but over the next few months, I might try my hand at this project:
84 z28
I start my list to buy all new car parts from summit and jegs. And start preping the car for spring. This year I get to rebuild the rearend and put some nice 4.10's in it.
Rhino
Our season runs through the end of January so I'm still at it. During the off season though I've got my eye on a couple of different spots to put stands. I'll mark the trees I want them on before spring green up. I may move a couple of ladder stands before spring green up too. I'll run cameras from the end of the season through turkey season to see what survived and keep tabs on the birds at the same time. March 15th through May 1st is turkey hunting time. It's also a good opportunity to be in the woods and do some post season scouting at the same time. We'll start planting summer food plots in May. Come late June I'll start running the cameras again and start getting my bow hunting stands ready. Gun hunting stands come after my bow stands are ready. Toward the end of August it will be time to start getting our camp ready for the season. That means getting camp stands ready, clearing roads, bushhogging roads and food plots, planting food plots, etc.
