ate1cropy
I have been reading that the bucks have been dropping their antlers all over including Minnesota. Every time I check my camera I pray to find a nice big buck without his antlers... This afternoon I got home and checked my mcard and got almost 30 pictures of two bucks still fighting. Im gunna guess they will not be dropping their antlers anytime soon.

Most bucks in Il. start losing their antlers in late January and early February. From what I've read shedding can vary from state to state and that deer with more points keep their headgear a little longer than deer with small racks. Zambo
Stress and nutrition are two big factors as to when a buck will shed his antlers. A few bucks even when healthy will still shed early in January. I have had trail cam pictures of bucks with both antlers in late March. However if the heard is healthy and the deer are not stressed most bucks in our area usually shed around March 1rst. But as most shed hunters know all deer are individuals and there are no set times as to when a buck will shed.
