KirkV
Well I shot one last doe this morning to empty out my last tag and fill the freezer. I have had a great year on doe harvests and a nice buck to boot! I took this 1 1/2 year old doe and took off both hind quarters whole bone in. I did a garlic spiced injection marinade in one and a Butter Creole injection marinade in the other. Then vac pak sealed each one and tossed them in the freezer. They will go on the smoker this summer. The tenderloins are packaged for ME for nice dinner grilled steaks MMMMMMM. And the rest was deboned and I think I will have some snack stick made. It was a great ending to a great year for me. It was the last time I will probably hunt this property as it is being sold for 1.25 million approximately. I have harvested 6 pope and young and one boone and crockett deer off of this property in the last 8 years. I will be finding a new place to hunt next year and already have my feelers out looking. fly
Congratulations on your doe Kirk! I know what you mean about finding a hot spot and then losing it. Glad you were able to get 8 years and some big deer! I wish you luck finding new hunting ground.
