Bowtech_archer07
Well, me and ccwhitey went out archery hunting for turkeys for the first time this year. We've both been busy with work and haven't had time to go out. So we go out, knowing where the birds were roosted and ended up spooking them while they were on the roost. So we move to cut them off and we had 3 hens coming then they saw or heard something they didn't like and booked it out of there. Then we decide to move and in the process, ccwhitey looks at me and mouths "LONGBEARD!!" So we hit the ground then belly crawled another 5 yards to an opening. In total there were 8 birds, all of them longbeards and all of them having beards of 9-13 inches in length and thick. We tried to do a double but by the time ccwhitey could shoot, I couldn't, so I let him take the shot, about 45 yards and he hit a twig and just barely missed the bird. It was a fun experience and good time spent with friends though because it was the last time i'll bowhunt this season as season goes out Friday and i'm back up at school until then. Bowtech_archer07
ccwhitey does.... we were on his ground. The ground that I spring turkey hunt on though is very good as well.
Guest TennesseeTurkey
Man it almost sounds like me I got on the property last year and it hadn't been turkey hunted for years and I slayed them the opening two mornings with TONS and TONS of birds gobbling.
