RangerClay
Ok, I have a rookie question. I read posts here and on AT about switching nocks and what nocks for what arrows. Could someone please explain to me or give a link explaining to me how to choose the right nock? I am presently using Carbon Express CX 300's and using the factory nocks. Are these good nocks or should I be choosing something else and why?
hutchies
Sorry I can't help. I shoot goltips but am not fond of their nocks. Seems like they pinch alot tighter on the string and I don't think get as clean as a release as they should. I always switch mine out and use Bohning nocks
LifeNRA
I always switch mine out and use Bohning nocks Same here, although I choose them mostly because of re-fletching my shafts and using a white nock for better visibility. VermontHunter
I actually like the GT Nocks (.246 ) As for my CX Shafts I ust thier nocks to insure the proper snug fit they require .. I think as long as the nocks fit snug inside the shaft they should be fine to use ..
Swamphunter
Is it true that GT nocks are the only ones that fit GT arrows? Size .246? My pro shop said that I needed to order specific GT nocks for my GT arrows when I was looking for a certain color nocks.
GWSmith
Joe, Heres what I use: https://www.qadinc.com/p-27-tune-a-nock-fs.aspx Here's a link to a webpage that has different nocks for sale...it simply has what Nocks fit What arrow shafts(scroll down past the luminocks for the different CX nocks). http://www.keystonecountrystore.com/Nocks.html As far as what nock for what arrow shaft..I've been unable to find any direct page explaining why. I've had the understanding that the nock should fit firmly but be able to turn. I know this is because of using press fit nocks and having the chance to turn them for proper fletching clearance after they are in the shaft. Another thing is when using a string loop I like to use nocks that have small "Ears" on them simply to cut down on the chances that I'll lean forward slightly with the release and bump the arrow off the string. I dont know if any of this helps you out but I simply listened to my Bow. If one type nock fit my arrow shaft and fit snugly to my string I tried it. The louder sound the Bow made directly correlated to the strength the nock held onto the string before releasing. Some were way too tight in my opinion..too loud translated to tight on the string. I held my bow facing the floor and tested how much force it took to pull the arrow off the string. I picked the type that held on the string while shaking the bow back and forth but required the least amount of force to pull off facing the floor. Straight Shooter
I use Easton nocks in my GT shaft, if anyone wants some G nocks I have about five different colors I'd be willing to give them. I like using the Easton nocks better since thet get a better bit on the string. There are so many styles of kncoks on the market now, there is no reason why anyone should have to shoot the manufacturers nocks that come with the arrow unless they want too. If it has the same diameter as the inside of the arrow then the nock will work.
hutchies
Bohning Signature nocks fit XT shafts as well.

I checked them with a outside caliper. .246"
