I know i have posted this before, but i have the right property line now and more info on the property. this is in lower alabama and its about 1200 acres. The yellow dots are box stands that have a planted field infront of it. There is a little blue next to a yellow dot that i have seen a nice deer, but its right at dark and that was 2 or 3 weeks ago. most of the land is planted pines but not in rows and its way to thick to hunt and the other part is a 7 year clear cut that you cant see in b/c its grown up so high. There is a state park that is in the upper picture. There is scrapes and rubs now and with this cold weather coming it should be getting good now. I am goin this weekend for 3 days. Hunting pressure has been about every other weekend with only at most 5 hunters. What are some of your ideas on places to hunt.

That's a lot of land you have to work with there!

Mornings: I'd be in the East Hardwoods back where no other hunters have been (or at least the least likely). Looks like you might have deer moving north to cover in the mornings from the fields south of the far East portion of the hardwoods.

Afternoons: I'd be close to the blue dot. Figure out the cover the deer come from (tracks, sightings) and hunt 30-50 yards in that cover. You might just catch one skirting the edges of the field prior to losing last light.:)

no question I would be on the edge of the 7 year clear cut on the right side where the property necks down to the hardwoods. I would sit in the hardwoods about 100 yards from the edge of the clearcut. During the last month of the season here we have a clear cut like that with pine and hardwoods surrounding it. During the morning hunt I sneak in and get settled an hour before light and catch them coming back into the clear cut to bed during the day. If you can not walk through that stuff the deer will be there. Find a trail coming out and hunt it!!!! It is also a great mid day and afternoon place. I also climb a pine about 48ft up right on the edge of our clear cut. This allows me to look down into it. I would not shoot anything in it unless its a buck or something that you really want because getting it will be a bit$h. Ours is about 9 foot tall of briars and new growth that walking through is impossible. I shot a buck in it last year that dropped in his tracks and what I had to do was get two 8 ft pine logs that are small enough to pick up. I would stand one up and let it fall into the briars and walk up it . once at the end I would get the other and do the same thing in front of me, once that one was down I would pick the first one up and do it after the second. Once I did this about 100 yards I got to the deer and had a decent trail behind me from walking on the logs to drag the deer out. Good luck and let me know if this helps. Thats what I would do. If you want me to show you let me know I will come hunt with you;)
