bfletch7441
Is there anything special about a Belgian made Browning? I recently acquired a BAR in 7-mm, and it's made in Belgium. It's in great condition, and has a 3.5x10 Leupold on top of it. Just curious as to the value of it. Ben
RangerClay
Where would you like your guns made? Belgium or Japan? Brownings were made for years by FN in Belgium. The FN workmanship is of better quality and it makes the resale of that gun MUCH higher. She's a keeper! Ps. I'll give you $100 for it. :D:D
ate1cropy
Are there any engravings on the stock? My cousin has an older BAR in 30-06 that he was given by his grandfather when he started hunting years ago. He has recently looked it up online and it goes for as much as 12 hundo.... PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
Without a pic or further description no way to tell what you have. My books list a whole bunch of BAR rifles that could fit your description.

bfletch7441
Here it is. There's no markings on it to tell me much about it other than a serial number, and it is 137 PP 02206. Thanks guys. Ben
johnf
Just me but I wouldn't post a serial number of a gun that I owned. If I owned a gun that is. Nice gun.

wtnhunt
Nice looking rifle. I would like to have a Belgian made BAR, wish I had bought one of the made in Belgium high grades back when they first came out. Also agree on the serial numbers, think I would ask Strut to remove that part of your post.
Heavy Metal
wow! I've always wanted a BAR, that's a beauty. DEF. A KEEPER!
Adjam5
I think ALL BAR's are made in Belgium. The older ones were made there and assembled there. The newer ones I think are made in Belgium and assembled in Portugal. A quality, quality made rifle...Did I say quality? Good Luck with it. I sure did not know that Anthony, kind of assumed that most of them were made in Japan now like the A bolts, with the custom work being done in Belgium. Adjam5
Yes William, the BARS are still made by FN Herstal Belguim. While the other Brownings( A bolt,BLR,Medallion) are made by Miroku Firearms of Japan. Miroku also makes SKB shotguns which also are noted for their exquisite craftsmanship as are the Brownings. When I was growing up, made in Japan meant junk. Now Japan is high quality compared to Chinese.
