hungry hunter
Got a question on the 75 gr. V-Max bullets:rolleyes:, in .243 cal. I am putting a coyote rig together since they don't play nice on my farm in Florida. The rifle is a Remington 700 ADL and a ATN night vision:D:D scope is going on top on it. All shots will be 25 to 200 yards. Thanx in advance for help.
PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
When I was shooting my 243 I never got the accuracy from the lighter bullets that I got with the 100 gr bullets. I have not used the Vmax bullets though.
wtnhunt
Have never used the v max, but my wife's savage model 10 in .243, a tack driver with 100 grain rounds, did not shoot as well with the lighter bullets I tried either. I think I tried winchester's 80 grain varmint rounds. Might try the v maxes and a few others in the lighter weights and see what performs best for you. Jeramie
Im shooting handloaded V-Max in my Ruger M77, .243. It will stack them. However, it shoots high and right of the Hornady 100grn BTSP's I load. Still, they group great and will get the job done at ranges well over 200yds. I wouldnt hesitate to shoot mine over 300 yards on a yote. It actually depends on the rifle. Two of the same model and cal wont necessarly shoot the same type of bullet the same. I had a Remington 700 in ADL that wouldnt shoot 150grn corelokt at all. However, bump that to 180grn and they would stack on top of each other. jumper_89
I shoot the 55 grain v-max in a 22-250. They are excelent loads for coyotes. The thing to do is to buy or borrow some to see if they shoot. Every gun shoots different.

PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
All the 243s I have owned are 1/9 twist. That twist is very common on the 243 I always blamed the poor results with the light bullets on that twist. That rate of twist stabilizes the heavier bullets (From 87 gr to 105 gr) very well. redkneck
I got my kids a 243 this year for christmas. I had honestly never pulled the trigger on one. It was fired 3 times this year on three deer with 100gr Winchester, 2 were close to 200 yards with none of them taking one step. That's more than i can say for my other rifle shots this year.
