hoytbowhunter
Well guys I finally have a minute to do this. Even though I shot this Doe the first Tuesday of PA's archery season I have been so swamped wit work and school I have not been able to post it. Here's the story after school I drove up to my cabin and headed to my favorite spot the wind was perfect so I suited up, sprayed down and hustled to the stand. It was pretty uneventful until about a half hour till dark when a doe and a yearly emerged from the "thick stuff" behind me and began to feed into me lane behind me at about 20 yards I was thinking hard about taking the doe though I probly never would have when another mature doe came down the same path and feed into the field to my left so I stood up and got ready and waited as still as possible for what seemed to be forever she came out from behind a pine tree in the field at thirty yards and looked to be slightly quarting away so when she turned her head I drew settled my pin and let the arrow fly!! To my dismay the arrow entered right in front of the ham which I figured was to far back for the angle at which she was standing. I sat until a half an hour after dark (saw 16 more doe, one who walked three feet from the base of my tree) and headed for the cabin to get my Dad and buddy to help me track her we waited another hour and went on the search. Fond my arrow which eased my mind a little cause there was some good blood on it. The arrow was five yards past where the doe stood for anyone wondering about Rage getting good penetration. We didn’t find blood right away because she jumped into the thick pines so we went through to other side and found blood all over a trail we worked the three trails off that and found nothing so just out of curiosity my dad looked under the pine on the trail she had originally taken and there she was not seventy yards from the hit the rage did its job she was quartering more then I thought the arrow went in front of the ham and exited right behind the opposite shoulder taking everything vital out on its way through!! I was so pumped!!! Sorry I didn’t get to share it with you guys sooner this year was rough this was the first of only 3 days I got to take the bow out this year.
