deershed
We found our first shed of the new season Dec. 29th. Hope I didn't over do it. Thought maybe these pics would get you in the mood for some shedding if you weren't already.

deershed
Some more.... An old one buried in the grass. A couple little fresh ones. Check out this funny rack. A couple more little fresh ones. Here's a little fresh Y shed. This next one was a funky looking shed. At home. My next 2 finds for the day was another little fresh one and an old one. This next one was dropped right off a nice trail. Looks like this buck left this one in his bed. My last find for this day was this nice 4pt. side. Found this one on a pretty steep hillside. I spotted these two buck one day that didn't mind me taking their pic.Later on another day I managed to find the bigger buck's right side. Here's a better look at the bigger buck. On this day I started off finding a couple little fresh ones then a couple of Sweet sets. My next find this day was the first antler to matched set,the other side will be found in a little bit. Before finding the other side to that last one I stumbled on to these. One of the prettiest sights I saw this season. Then shortly later the other side to the one before the set laying together. Here's the day's finds at home. I had this buck's matched set from last year too,the bottom set. The following day I was back in the same area where I found the 2 matched sets to check the grown-up field out better. It didn't take long before I spotted these. While searching that same small grown-up field,at the other end I spotted these. Here's all 4 sets that I found in the same small area. More to come..... deershed
Thanks guys!! I think sharing your finds is all part of the shedding experience. Here's some more. A little fresh spike side found in the same field the 4 sets came from. Here's an almost yard shed. Believe it or not I was right on top of this one before I saw it. Here's a fresh 4pt side. Don't know how I missed this one last year. My favorite way to find them, sets laying together. Another nice fresh 4pt. side. Here's a couple old ones, they all count. And another old one. This was a nice one,but he busted off his g-3. An old spike. I found a couple close ones here.Straight behind this first pic layed another one you can't see yet. This shot is from a different angle. And one more of the same shed. This pic was taken straight behind that last shed. You can see that pile of brush in this pic and the first pic of the last shed. A couple more of that same shed. When you miss them fresh dropped in the hayfields the following year that can be a little tricky spotting. These next ones were Pa. sheds. The rodents did a number on this fresh drop. Then this one lays all year and nothing touched it?? A little Y shed laying on the bank of a small creek.Looks like the little buck crossed the small creek and dropped it climbing the bank. This one saw better days. A sweet 5pt. side with blood still on the base. Nothing beats the sets laying together. I spotted this one from about 40yds. A couple more oldies. A little fresh 3pt. side. Love the bladed brow tine on this next one. My dried velvet sheds. And the mate. Both together. And my last min. set. These were found at the end of the day with only mins. of daylight left. I wasn't far from my jeep too.
deershed
Here's some more AtL's from last year. An old one,I later found the other side. A fresh 4pt. side. A fresh 4pt. side,I matched this antler up a couple weeks later. A fresh 3pt. side. One of my smallest ever. This next antler I'm almost positive came from the same buck I've got 3 matched sets off of. Here's a little fresh 3pt. side. I had a little run with the old ones finding alot of old ones in a row. This one was another old one,but in much better shape. One last old one which makes 4 in a row.A few more meals and this one would have been history. Finally a fresh one,a little Y. Finding them in the tall grass is almost as bad as seaching the leaves. If you don't find them fresh a year and new grass coming up can make them tricky to find. Out of the fields and back in the woods.A nice little 3pt. side. Next was a sweet little Y. In that same area it wasn't hard spotting this next one. These next two finds were laying 10" apart off two different buck. The first a nice 4pt. side. The second antler a Y. And both antlers as they were found. Not 100yds. from those last 2 I walked up on this sweet 4pt. side. And last for the day was this fresh Y side. Still plenty more to come....
