Turkeygirl
I thought I'd ask you guys here....most of us have flashlights, lol. I was wondering, what is a good flashlight, maybe no more than $15 or under that? My sister's b-day is coming up (which obviously means mine, lol) and I wanted to get her decent flashlight, maybe LED. I was looking on eBAY last night and holy cow.... Too many...there were some of the small ones like I have - I have a 9 LED little compact cheap one that actually works really well. Any thoughts, suggestions?

jm23494
Try a mini mag lite. I think they run about $12 and are nearly indestructable and work great. You can get the LED conversion bulbs for around $5-$10.
wtnhunt
Mini mag lights. You can buy them with the led conversion at wal mart pretty reasonable. I really probably need to pick up another 3d mag light, we seem to have had one come up missing.
ruttinbuc
I was just kidding with you Ruth. I have one that is pretty nice really. It is a 9 LED that I picked up in a Tractor Supply for $10. That thing is as bright as all get out and just as sturdy as those you see for a lot more.. Can't remember the name, but it came in Silver, Blue, and Black...the smaller one was about 6 bucks and came in those colors plus Red
Leo
Task Force makes a nice one at about that price. They sell them at Lowes. Works and acts like a much more expensive flashlight. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=174261-50584-FT-NS-3AAA%206L&lpage=none

Turkeygirl
Ranger...this would probably be more for home, when she camps out in our woods, etc...
RangerClay
I have a flashlight that came with my cordless drill that I use the most. But without a doubt my favorite flashlight is my 12" Mag Light. It is very bright, rugged and dependable. The D batteries last for months. I keep a couple in the house and one in the truck. The one in the truck also acts a self defense club because it is that rugged.
Leo
Ranger...this would probably be more for home, when she camps out in our woods, etc... In that case that TaskForce light from Lowe's is perfect. We've got two of them. They are the Dog walking lights we regularly use. Put three Energizer lithium AAAs in it and it lasts a LONG time. bulldawg
If you have a Sam's Club membership, get a 2 pack of K2 Element lights for $18. They are 3 LED + Lithium! Those baby's are the best I've found yet. I've had Mag light & Streamlight, etc. My cousin is an EMT, and he looked at mine to see if he could trace a blood vein in my arm. He said it out did one of his $100+ lights that he uses on ambulance calls. For the money, you would get a nice light, and so would your sister... Grant-KS
Task Force makes a nice one at about that price. They sell them at Lowes. I'm a flashlight freak, and probably have at least 8 of them all over the place, including a Surefire 6P, but for the value, I think the Task Force one is the best light for the price. I want to get a MiniMag 3Watt single LED to try out sometime, but I can't quite justify spending another $30 on a flashlight I don't need. LOL P.S. Stay away from Performance Tool lights like many auto parts stores carry. I bought a Husky, I believe, 9 LED 3 AAA battery light that I keep in my Carhart work coat all the time, and I've been very impressed with it as well. Mine's lime green and rubber coated(supposed to be glow in the dark.). I paid all of $7 at Home Depot. You can get the LED conversion bulbs for around $5-$10. Thats what I did! I have about 4 mini-mags, I got two 1 watt conversion LED's. Let me tell you this! BRIGHT! Its only one LED, but it sure does throw a bright light out! A few of the guys at work got the 5 watt upgrade, can only imagine how they are! Shaun_300
Yeah the mini maglites are GREAT little lights, I always have one in my toolbox or in my pocket at work. Some have been driven over by cars, dropped in oil, antifreeze or any other automotive fluid, thrown when I get mad! (J/K) They're great for the price of them, and yes the LED ones are very bright. Guest oddg241
Mini mags You get what you pay for most times but almost any medium priced LED flashlight works great. I'm a flashlight junkie too. I have 3 in kitchen, 2 in basement, one in car, 2 in pickup, 2 in backpack, 1 in fanny pack, and 2 in garage. LED's are worth whatever you get them for. The price tag doesn't make one much better than another. Most of mine are the mini mags. Having spare batteries around is as important as having the flashlight. HUNTINGMAN
Have you thought about a streamlight stylus,it is small not very expensive and when used with the extra larger magnifying lens it puts out a nice beam and you wont lose your vision in the dark when you turn it off.I have two streamlight stingers that are rechargable and love them but find myself reaching for my stylus more nowadays.
