HUNTINGMAN
I am thinking of getting a red dot sight to put on my supernova turkey gun this year.I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with tru glo red dots and if they are very dependable.Any other suggestions are also welcome, also where to get a camo scope mount for the same gun.Thanks. VermontHunter
Haven't any experience with the TRU GLO but I love my Bushnell Trophy Multi Dot that I had mounted on my Winchester ... http://bushnell.com/general/riflescopes_trophy_73-0135.cfm

Turkeygirl
I put a TruGlo Red Dot on my Mossberg Super Bantam 20 ga last spring and I like it alot...it's dependable and I shot a nice state land gobbler with it....it really allows you to fine tune your site to your shot pattern

Ravin R10 man
Juat put A Simmons red dot 42mm on my 357 mag handgun..if it stands up to that recoil, a shotgun should be no problem..cost was $120 mounted and sighted in with a box of shells. Flintlock1776
I use Bushnell's Holo Sight on my Mossberg UltiMag 835 for Trukey. You may want to check out that as an option.
bluelund79
I use a low end Leapers on my 870...Very easy to sight it, and after 2 seasons, it is still on zero and battery life has been great.
Dakota
I've got the same TruGlo in RT Hardwoods camo on my Mossberg UltiMag 835 that I bought yesterday, looking forward to turkey season! Although, I'm wondering how many boxes of turkey loads it will take before it is fine-tuned. Look's like we'll both be figuring this out. HUNTINGMAN
Can a shogun be boresighted? This would sure save some money and some shoulder pain.
dogdoc
Can a shogun be boresighted? This would sure save some money and some shoulder pain. I have a red-dot scope on my 835 Turkey gun and absolutely love it. Won't ever hunt turks with out it. Here is a tip---when you first sight your scope in just start at 15 yards and shoot dove loads. Sight it in with the cheap dove loads (easy on the shoulder and wallet). Once you have it sighted in perfect with the dove loads then back up to where you want your turkey loads and shoot a turkey shot---you should be very close and only have to shoot 2 or 3 times to get her sighted in. good luck todd
doubleA
dogdoc is spot on, that's the way to go IMHO too. One thing I can add is to take the shotgun and put it in something that can hold the gun. Whether it's a card board box with a "V" cut into each end or gun cleaning vice or lead sled device it doesnt matter. At the close range or 15-20 yards aim the shotgun with the bead(s) at a small object, say a soda can and then adjust the red dot reticle to it. This may take a few times if you move the shotgun doing it but it should get you real close and save you shells and shoulder pain. Personally I use a Leupold 1.5x4x on my turkey gun, the wife's has a Cablea's red dot on it and my loaners have ATN RD's. The nifty thing about using them is that you can really get the POI exactly where you want it and can shoot in awkward positions without affecting accuarcy as there is no parallax.
