Jorden
I like the hire but am a little unsure about the move to a 3-4. Thompson better be willing to spend the money because right now, they dont have the players to fit that type of scheme.
Chrud
I wouldn't expect a move to a 3-4 for a year or two, if at all. GB currently does not have the players to make a 3-4 successful. Jenkins would be good on the line. Not sure about Kampman and the DT's would need some major improving. Hawk and Barnett would be OK LB's. Poppinga would be alright in a 3-4, but they should look at making him an alternate in the 4-3 scheme. No doubt there will be some 3-4 looks added to the system. However, Capers won't change it to a total 3-4 unless at least two or three big free agents or draft picks arrive.
PotashRLS
Scuttlebutt around here is that Capers is the start to try and get Julius Peppers to Green Bay.
c_lou
The 3-4 needs a stud NT, something I don't see on the Packers roster as of today. Peppers in the Green & Gold??? Thompson would never spend the money.
muggs
Trust me...you do not want to see your team try to force guys ill-suited for a 3/4 into a 3/4. For one, you guys have one of the best 4/3 DEnds in the game in Kampman. That guy is OLB in a 3/4. Why force him to change? Plus, he'd have to drop into pass coverage and he'd probably look as good as Kamerion Wimbley does in that roll. AJ Hawk was the best college linebacker in the country in a 4-3 too. Why make him learn a new system? Dance with who brung ya. That was a top defense unit two seasons ago, and the majority of that talent is still there. I think they'll be fine. They were banged up. That Sega Genisis or Atari guy will be back- he's a player. btw- my Brownies traded for one of your DTs, Corey Williams, and I watched him struggle to try and play DEnd in a 3/4 all year...without much sucess. The Packers would have to move some of their tackles to end too...just doesn't work.
