ate1cropy
If you catch a fish and wish to have it mounted what is the best way to keep it till you get it to the taxi? - thanks
RTF
First, it is best to keep the fish alive as long as possible. I keep mine in a live well. When you get home, get an old towel, one that can soak up water. Get the towel nice and moist and then wrap the fish in it. Be gentle with the fins. After this, wrap the towel with fish inside with saran wrap. Place in freezer ASAP. You can keep the fish in the freezer for a year without any problem. Deliver the fish frozen to the taxidermist. Predator
I would also suggest getting some good pictures for color for painting whether skin mount or fiberglass mount. Get measurements of girth and length in case you go with fiberglass and to be sure the taxidermist knows what it was like before frozen. I have two photos of small mouth bass that I plan to get fiberglass mounts of some day. The color difference between the two is amazing.
