huntaholic1
this is the deer I shot this year with my new TC omega z5 at 165 yards, 100 grn 777 pellets, 200 grain TC shockwave bullet. The deer weighed 190 lbs field dressed, but felt way heavier when trying to load by myself. This is my second biggest deer to date. My first was a 12 pointer that dressed at 245lbs,net score of 163, taken at 27 yards with my 30-06. Needless to say, ONE shot!
PotashRLS
Dandy buck there. How did the sabot perform on the deer? Noticed the chain from the bucket, isn't that a bit rough on the antlers?
huntaholic1
The sabot performed awesome and held together really well. We were able to find it in the deer when skinning. The shot wasn't the best placed , however the deer didn't go 10 yards before piling up. I was a little upset as well when I saw the chains used to lift deer. I had went inside to clean my hands from cleaning out the deer, and when I came back out my uncle had already lifted him. I made sure to check his antlers when we brought him down. They seemed fine and unmarked. But I know, not very smart!!!

fly
Great looking buck there. I wonder if your uncle would have used chains if it was his deer? I've got relatives I wouldn't let anywhere near my deer prior to being mounted.

Heavy Metal
you know chances are he probably would , now I know not to leave my deer alone with anyone!!I did that on my first buck..unawares. He crossed two property lines before he went down. The first was my friend and nextdoor neighbor so I already had permission to cross. The second...where he fell, was a fellow I know and am cool with who owns a big chunck (60 acres or so). When I found him, I laid my muzzloader accross the buck and took off to find the property owner. I did and he was totally cool. When I got back to the deer, a hunter was standing next to it...and my gun was gone. He then proceeded to light in to me about this is his dad's property and that I ruined his hunt by galavanting through his woods. Turns out I was like 10 feet from the property I THOUGHT I was on. Anyway, he chilled out, but what pissed me off more than anything was that he moved my rifle off the deer to a near by tree....NOT COOL. Okay....I'm done now.
