2nd Annual Blake Hall Archery Shoot

Hunters Helping Hunters is an awesome group that gives countless hours and effort in taking physically disable people hunting. I started donating all there marketing needs last year. My neighbor Mark works tirelessly along with a handful of other men retrieving deer, spotting and calling in turkeys, you name it. Blake Hall was a great Kid and he died in 2007 after multiple amputations and a long battle with a very aggressive cancer. They started this charity shoot in his honor. Check it out, it's a total blast and if you're anywhere within driving distance, we'd love to have you! There will be food and raffles as well.

wow. great post. i took blake after elk 5 years ago, through "hunt of a lifetime". he was out here a week after they took off his leg, but we still got a nice bull. if you go back on these posts, you'll see some neat pictures of blake. he was a good kid. this is the first i've heard of his passing. rip, buddy.
WOW, what a small world we live in! That's great to hear! Blake has gotten numerous toms and deer with us. He's actually from IL up around Chicago if I'm not mistaken. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but his passing was extremely hard on two close friends of mine that have been taking him hunting for the last few years. Here's a cool poem and photo frame we made for HHH and his family but I think you should have one since you knew him and took the time to help. PM me your email and I'll send you a high res PDF for yourself to print and frame if you'd like.

Never had the priveledge of knowing this young man, but sounds like he was a great kid. Nice to see something like this in honor/memorial of Blake. Sure hate to hear of any kids have to go through something like that, but sounds like a lot of people really pulled together to help him out.

It is a WONDERFUL experience. And it's not a "kids" only thing. This year a 54 year old friend of mine from church went. He has Lou Gehrigs disease, it's terminal and uncurable barring a healing work from God. He got the biggest buck he's ever got and had a blast! It was so cool. HHH even paid for it to be mounted and had the taxi move it to the front of the list because time is short. Just an all around great organization. With great memories made over and over!

And they don't have to be terminally ill either. We have older gentlemen with bad knees and hips or young people or middle aged people maybe with an amputation that keeps them from hunting under normal conditions. So they zing 'em around on a quad to ground blinds and stuff. Even had an autistic 9 year old out there in November. It's awesome!:D

These are two different organizations. Here is an ad for the organization I am part of. this is, however, an older ad and the address has changed. It is current on the web site.

thank you for finding that and digging the story out of the archives, william. blake was a good kid. what you can't see in the field pictures is that his leg, amputated just a week before he came out here, was a still bleeding stump. that kid followed me for miles on new crutches, often dripping blood. he wanted a bull. blake was a hunter. rip, blake.
