bigfoot22
Does an arrow rest affect shot placement? My shots are not consistant.I'm shooting a two-prong style arrow rest.A friend at work said that it would.he suggested a whisker biscut or drop away. When I started shooting this bow the arrow rest was new and now the black covers on the prongs are wore a bit. VABuckSlayer
Re: Arrow rest Your fletchings could be hitting the rest. This will cause the arrow to fly inconsistant. You may need to adjust your vanes (spin your nock) so they don't hit the rest. BTW, where in VA are you located. I'm in Mechanicsville on the Hanover/New Kent line. magnatecsteve
Re: Arrow rest Yes, any vane contact with the rest will definately affect your shot placement, that's why the drop-away models have become so popular. If you are shooting arrows with adjustable knocks, turn them so they clear. You may also need to adjust the prongs on the rest to get clearance, maybe turning them out just a little. The longer the vane and the more helical you shoot, the harder it is to get good clearance. If you have a pro shop near you, they can help get it all adjusted. Thats how archery is, alot of "tweeking" to get everything lined up right....I love it! Good luck!
JimT
Re: Arrow rest The plastic on the prongs does wear and needs replacing. If your looking for a new rest for hunting I would get a Biscuit. You can tune up your current setup before you buy a rest though. If the arrows were not hitting before something has changed. It could also be your nock position.
MadHuntinPastor
Re: Arrow rest I love my biscuit!! Hardly ever have to worry about an arrow falling off the rest. It also has never hurt my accuracy. I agree with find your local bow shop. It helps to have the pro's hook you up. Good luck.

bigfoot22
Re: Arrow rest I've alined all my fletching so they would clear the arrow rest and still the same results.I'm going with a biscut or the trophy hunter. On the subject of the shakey hunter rest-Does that rest keep the arrow from falling off?I know the biscut keeps it inplace. Thanks for the replies.
