VermontHunter
OK, here the thing. I've always used GoldTip XT's as my #1 arrow shaft. BowtechTurkeyHunter was gracious enough to send me a dozen Carbon Express 350's some time back and I was very impressed with their over all reliability and durability. I'm now in the market for yet another dozen shafts to outfit my Hoyt Katera with, and just being me I love to try out new things. I was looking at the Beman MFX Team Realtree shafts for this round of shafts. Any prostaffers out there have any input on these shafts ??? Or in fact any input on shaft selection at all would be nice to hear .. I'm in the market for new shafts, but don't want to be hasty with this some what pricey purchase, so lets hear what your opinions are ... THANKS, Luke

BowtechTurkeyHunter
If the shafts you have now are working why are you changing both of them shafts are very much still available ... Steve
VermontHunter
If the shafts you have now are working why are you changing both of them shafts are very much still available ... Steve The Pro Shop I deal with here ( the one and only ) doesn't stock Maxima or GT Shafts .. Go figure HUH ... I can get the Beman MFX Team Realtree Shafts cut and squared by them for $80 a doz. I love the Maximas you sent me but I can't swing the $129.95 doz. plus shipping cost and then pay to have them cut here and squared here...Same for the GT XT's .. :( I know I sound cheap, but that's just how it is ... Tominator
I'm going to have to break down and buy arrows this year. I've always used XT's since switching over to carbons a few years ago. I'll be interested in seeing any comments or your thoughts Luke.
GWSmith
Luke, Why dont you get the less expensive arrows uncut, borrow or buy someones G-5 ASD, and use a high-speed Dremel with a cutting wheel???
VermontHunter
Luke, Why dont you get the less expensive arrows uncut, borrow or buy someones G-5 ASD, and use a high-speed Dremel with a cutting wheel??? Of the 3 shafts I've mentioned Gary, the Bemans are the least expensive, and because they are being purchased from the local Pro Shop they will cut and square them at NO charge for me. I don't know anyone with a G-5 Squaring tool, and I don't own one ... And I definately don't own a dremel tool ... and with my luck I would hack a shaft all to heck with one .. I've always wanted a saw but never could justify the purchase for the amount on shafts I buy in a span of time. The Squaring tool is just my lack of better judgement every archer should have one of these in his archery tackle box IMHO ...
Adjam5
Luke, I picked up a very inexpensive arrow cutter on E bay a while back, 2 years maybe. I think I paid like $55. The guys makes it himself. The saw is factory made, but he mounts the saw to platform he makes himself out of bent aluminum on a brake. The high speed saw can be gotten at Northern tool for $19.99. It is a mini hi speed chop saw. The vise clamp on the saw holds the arrow straight. The cuts are clean and square. Comes with a extra cutting wheel also. Between myself and Joe alone, it gets a good work out a few times a year, plus all the arrows we cut for friends. We buy raw shafts here and fletch ourselves. VermontHunter
I've seen those type of cut off saws on ebay for sale.. but wasn't aware that it came with a table ... I usually buy nothing but bare shafts ,,, I like to do my own wrapping and fletching ..
hutchies
Buddy you ever buy your own saw you will not be able to believe you went without one. It comes in sooooo handy. The ASD is a must have as far as I'm concerned. Of course your talking to a guy that could open a bow shop in his garage. I only own 2 presses, saw, and about every tool I could need to work on bows. I'm short a chrono and hoping for that for my birthday.

Stryder
http://cgi.ebay.com/Arrow-Cut-Off-Saw-with-Measuring-Table-Archery-Jig_W0QQitemZ230294604129QQcmdZViewItemQQptZArrows?hash=item230294604129&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 Not too badly priced, if you dont want to build your own. Myself, I'll just order the saw and make the table for 1/2 the price.
VermontHunter
Don't know Keystone has this one for $99.00 .. The thing is it's only a 5000 RPM model, all tho it does have the built in arrow spinner on it ..
hutchies
Luke if you are going to buy a saw I recommend the 8,000........Check this place out. I bought a 8,000 from them with the dust collector for less than what Keystone has the 5,000 for. They say they are made by American Archery Products but they are actually Weston Saws which is the same kind bass pro sells. http://www.bowhunterssuperstore.com/arrow-saws-american-archery-products-c-24_517.html
