I have seen many types and models . The latest was a type of chairs that you flip the top over. Pretty cool and easy to transport. Do you use any portable shelter? It is so dark inside do you actually see down there? How do you like them?

If you have the money to spend, the Fish Trap (pretty sure that's the name) is the way to go. It was invented by Dave Gentz who's pretty much an ice fishing legend. Great design and it's super portable. They're not cheap though.

The Clam is another good one.

My buddy has the base model Frabill (could be the same one bluelund mentioned). It's pretty bare bones, but I like it. Best part is the price. I saw them up at Gander for $180. Good little shanty for that price IMO. I've fished out of it a lot. He's taken it out on Erie, up to Canada, and all over the inland Ohio lakes and it's held up nice.

I just bought and Eskimo QuickFish3 and used it for the first time this last weekend. Very happy with it so far. It's much like a portable hunting blind. Fits in a bag that has a shoulder harnass for packing it to your fishing spot and then it literally just pops up and you anchor it to the ice (if windy). Has on open bottom and no seats which allows flexibility on how many holes and people you want in there (Fits 3 people comfortably and 4 ok too). Picked it up new at Sportsmans Warehouse for $189
