Grady269
I am thinking of buying a Savage ML10 to be able to shoot smokeless powder. I currently have an Encore, which i am not unhappy with but the ability to truly shoot without cleaning is a mightly temptation. I would appreciate any feedback, i it worth the change? What kind of accuracy expectations should i have? It is legal in my state to shoot smokeless in a firearm designed for it which the Savage is. smallmunster
Two of my brothers have the savages and they are happy with them. I did most of the set up and sighting in and they shoot alright. Some are getting tremendous groups at longer ranges but I have not been able to do it. They have no trouble killing deer though. The Savage can get a little heavy, but I will not be switching back to non-smokeless, you get used to it in a hurry.
Buzz
Check out this thread if you really like your Encore. Blackhorn is basically smokeless. I've shot multiple times without cleaning between shots, have waited for days before cleaning, ect. It's expensive, relativly speaking. I mean compaired to a new gun it's cheaper than dirt.
