Guest fireflyparamedic
Question for you? I have a small pop-up blind and was wondering if you can shoot an arrow through the provided screening with a mechanical broad-head is a tekkan from g5 at 100grains. Would like to try it for turkey season this year. Fireflyparamedic
PotashRLS
Some say yes, some say no......depending on what brand you are shooting. I personally would not do it regardless. I personally won't shoot a fixed blade through the mesh either. Just my opinion.
VermontHunter
MECHANICAL BROADHEADS aren't to be shot through any type of mesh ... they will prematurely open on contact with the mesh .. Most blinds post warnings about the use of MECHANICAL BROADHEADS .. ;)
RangerClay
There is an episode of Lee & Tiffany where Blake Sheldon aimed a little low and his arrow hit the mess. He did get the deer but the blades opened up.
redkneck
I dont think anything good would come of it. Come up with a way to slide the mesh aside to take your shot.

layin on the smackdown
Ive done it and have never had a problem doin it with my fixed blades, but i would never try doing it with a mechanical or expandable broadhead....not unless you removed the mesh. I agree with the above... Edited January 27, 2009 by layin on the smackdown
WVreddot870
blind The G5 tekan takes 3lbs of pressure to open. They will not open in flight but the mesh would be enough resistance to open the blades
Guest fireflyparamedic
I've wondered about just blacking out the blind and not having the mesh up. can't seem to be able to find black gear for the job. any suggestions. firefly
TuffnufOutdoors
I shot a turkey out of my double bull with my rage 2 blade through the net and it worked fine. Did not take a step. Flopped over dead.
Tink
Texas gets a lot of non residen t bowhunters Many guides prohibit the use of mech shootign thru mesh Too many wounded deer are the result. Most Blind makes will tellyou anything to sell you a new blind But listen to the guides Shoot thus & mech heads = wounded game

He was shot with a mechanical broadhead that did not open. WHAT a WASTE!!!! Red Dot
