Oklahoma is getting pelted again. This will be the third year in a row for a big ice storm. Hopefully its no where close to the last two. Early predictions say it wont be as bad. Most areas are expecting between .25" and 1.25" of ice.

Its been falling since roughly 11:00 and suppose to fall through Wednesday morning. Im already going to have a long 55 mile trek home. Yeeehaaaaa......

Been watching this pretty close since yesterday, since they had us under an ice storm warning. Hope it does not get too bad for you Jeramie, looks like it could be pretty bad for us this time around.:( We have managed to have the worst of the ice miss us the past couple years, but looks like we are going to get hammered this time, earlier today they were calling for up to 1.5 inches of ice here they have since backed off that prediction to just possibly over an inch.:o Hoping they are wrong all together, but think that is probably wishful thinking.

From the national weather service, the bulletin on the weather channel for our county:

... ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

AN ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY.

FREEZING RAIN WILL BEGIN LATE THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. SLEET MAY MIX IN WITH THE FREEZING RAIN TONIGHT... ESPECIALLY NORTH OF A JONESBORO ARKANSAS TO PARIS TENNESSEE LINE.

SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE HALF INCH OR GREATER ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED NORTH OF OF A JONESBORO ARKANSAS TO PARIS TENNESSEE LINE WHERE OVER ONE INCH OF ICE IS POSSIBLE.

THIS WILL BE A LONG DURATION EVENT. TREES AND POWER LINES WILL LIKELY BECOME ICE COVERED... LEADING TO POSSIBLE LOSS OF POWER ACROSS THE AREA. BRIDGES... OVERPASSES... AND ROADWAYS WILL BECOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND MAY BECOME IMPASSABLE.
