saphira
i was wanting to know if you all could tell me what i should do. me and my brother have been hunting a monster 12 pointer and this year my brother missed him and he said he has double drop tines. this deer is very elusive. my hunting property backs up to a state park and to another persons property that they poach and just blow deer populations down. more or less its high hunting pressure but i want to plant a food plot were my stands are. iam using some imperial clover, no plow, and some mossy oak bio logic. i am also going to put out some lick sites to establish some home for the deer. i have the bed in front of both stands and the state park in front of the main stand and two ponds behind it. the deer is very nocturnal does any one think this will work to get that big deer. redkneck
Wow, late this season to rethink stategy, but there's always next year. How many acres you got? If you can figure out how to keep a buck in place then please PM me cuz i'm dying to know...haha. Do you bowhunt? One great way to take a nice buck is to hunt the early bow season, before hunting pressure starts to set in. Also get them while they are still in their summer feeding pattern. Once the rut starts, there's no telling where they'll go, but food plots are a good start by keeping does around you'll help your odds. fly
It is getting late at this point. My advice would be to concentrate your efforts on preventing your neighbor from poaching. Then maybe that deer will be there next year.
