wtnhunt
Have heard the moultries are better than they used to be, but have no first hand experience with them. All I use anymore are homebrew cams.
oldksnarc
I bought and used three Moultrie's this year. $100 each at Wal-Mart. Great camera. Great resolution. Uses a flash at night and not infrared -but didn't seem to bother the deer. Here's some of the pictures it took.
saphira
I was wanting to know what kind of camera it was
oldksnarc
Moultrie is the brand name. Go to walmart.com and go into the hunting section. They'll give the details/features/specifications of the camera there. I got the SD card to use in each of them. On medium resolution (which the above pics were taken) the cards will store over 1900 pictures.
Stickslinger
Scoutguard makes a decent camera for $199. Its about the size of your hand and is IR at night, you can see a red glow from the IR bulbs when it takes a picture at night but it doesn't seem to bother the animals. You can read some info on different cameras at Chasingame.com.
Darron
I am getting ready to buy two Moultrie D-40's. I researched on chasinggame.com and for the money, they had decent reviews. I had a stealth cam 35mm camera and got tired of dealing with it. It was a piece...........
Flintlock1776
I have the Moultire D40 and the Infrared one. I perfer the infrared one: D40 (still shot): Infrared- day (click on photo): Infrared - night (click on photo):
redkneck
We got my dad a moultrie infrared from walmart for under 200 bucks. It does ok. I use a leaf river, not a bad cam, but a bit pricey. One note on the moultrie, my buddy took his back to the dealer he got it from to get it serviced after it started acting up. He wouldnt take it back without a receipt (the cam was a gift, he had no recpt) and the guy refused to send it back. Dont know if this is moultrie's policy or his. The guy said "how do i know you didnt steal it?" what a jerk
TuffnufOutdoors
Yes I use moultries and love them. They have different price ranges. I use some of the $100 flash type. The only thing is the distance is not quit as good as the infrared ones. But I can put more out . The I40 I think cost about $219. I have buddies that got some cuddie back and complain about them. BobRooney
Scotguard I have 7 different game cameras now...and I like the SG550 Scotguard cameras hands down. For the price $200 and performance, there is no competition. I have Moultrie I40s from 07 & 08 and the 07 is a pretty good camera but Ive had alot of trouble w/ the 08. I recommend IR cameras over regular flash too.
Zambo
I use the Cuddieback Capture and I love it. It takes great pictures, it is easy to use and it costs about $ 199. For picture quality you can't beat the flash model and the deer don't seem to mind the flash at all.
huntaholic1
just started filming last year with a Bushnell trail scout, fairly cheap 120 cdn. Really nice day and night pics and a fast trigger speed. I actually caught a bird flying at close range past the camera. Battery life also determined by weather. The colder it is the less life. Average 125 pics per four D cell batteries. Overall a good camera!
clrj3514
i use wildview xtreme 2s. 2-pack for $100 at Cabela's
dbHunterNY
I just bought a Wildview 2.0 MP but I haven't used it yet. I've heard good things about the durability of Stealth Cams and I've been told Moultrie has been not too bad. Wildviews have been hit or miss I suppose, but most of the time you get a good camera that's a great value. I figured if it didn't work I'd take it back. Simple as that. We'll see if I'll get it to take a picture of some rackers this fall. - Dan
