Rhino
The last one I financed was my GMC Yukon. Payments on it were $869/month but I put some money down on it and only financed the balance for 2 years. I paid it off 3 years ago. I paid cash for my 2008 Tahoe so no payments to worry about there. bfletch7441
Yeppers. If I can't pay cash for it, I DON'T NEED IT. Me too! Then I'll drive em till they're absolutely and completely dead. Right now I'm working on my '89 GMC 4x4 and '94 Taurus. They're not on their last leg, but they're not on all four either. Wrote a check for my wifes '05 Toyota Sienna. JimT
My truck is paid off, but I would have a hard time paying more then $300.00 a month for a truck. Would rather spend my money on toys....
Alisha
'07 Tacoma $281 a month... but I send $300 each month. Every little bit helps getting that sucker paid off. Anything over $300 is too much, IMO.
Mach1
We pay $450/month for my F150, but that's more than what the payment is supposed to be and we plan on getting it paid off 9-12 months sooner than the loan life. My wife's car is paid off and she paid more than the payment and had it paid off about 9 months early.
dogdoc
i had a $600 truck payment--financed 3 years with 0% interest. I think the more reasonable thought would be how many years to have to finance the loan instead of the amount. If you can't pay it off in 4 years then you probably should pass. The_Kat
I agree with you todd! We financed my truck at 5 years....I was not so smart about things at the time, and now I'm getting raped on it. I'm 5000 upside down on it and needing to get rid of it for something that will pull my trailer. But I'm just gonna bite the bullet and pay it off this year and then keep it. On Jenns car I was alot smarter ( due to the raping on my truck ) and we have a 230$ a month note thats over in 30 months. It's a brand new pontiac G6. Interesting inputs from folks! I was just curious. I hate learning things the hard way, but I am on my truck
elkoholic
Situations vary. The only payment that is too high is the one you can not afford. For those of you who can afford to walk into an auto dealer and pay cash for a vehicle, the rest of us are jealous and hope that you appreciate your position in life. kidd
do what you gotta to do...for us we put alot of money away for retirement (18%) of income so we feel that we can afford a payment...it is what works for you
redkneck
When i bought my 2000 Z71 in 03 it was 20k and payments about 450 a month. It was spotless, and never had been in 4WD. Now that i have it it's covered in mud and seals leaking because of places i put it into. I'll never pay that much again for a truck. I always buy used cars, but next truck will be more used than that one, hahah.... Let someone else get more depreciation off of it, cuz in a couple of years it will look just like any other one out there, esp if you use it like i do. WHISKEYSWAMP
I think my payment on my 02 z71 was around $400 when I bought it new... it's been paid off for 4 years now.
MichiganHunter
I had a 2005 dodge dakota, basic...2wd on lease and it was only 106 a month with 15k given a year for 3 years, just got rid of it and was able to pay cash for a 03 dodge ram 4x4 long bed hemi pretty loaded....well pretty loaded for me any ways. stevebeilgard
on my '06 duramax, i got 4 years of 0% interest, so i took it. payments on about 75% of the cost are $625. a month. high payments, but why pay cash with zero financing? actually, though, the way most of my stocks are going i'd have been better off selling some and paying cash for the truck. but, who knew.... OJR
$0 on my '04 Olds! $380.00 per month on my '07 Colorado and it will be paid for in about 13 months!
Straight Shooter
2002 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab was 408.00-paid off last January This will soon change, looking at new trucks now!
unioncountyslayer
For everyday cars/trucks the wife and I like to keep our individual payments under $300 a month. I have an 06 F-150 FX4 that I pay around $150 a month, and my wife's Lexus RX330 is paid in full. Work trucks on the other hand is another story! But they serve more of a purpose and make money, so it's justified. I did however sell an F-650 I had about a year ago. Payments on that sucker were right at $1,000.00 a month. jdavis
If you lose your job and have to collect unemployment will you still be able to make all of your payments. If not then it's proably too much. That's my feeling
Chrud
My Silverado is $400.77 a month. When I'm not "in the market" for any big purchases, I try to pay $500 to $600 a month on it. I would try to avoid anything over $500 a month.

m gardner
The 2003 BMW motorcycle is mine. The 2005 Silverado will be soon at $593.43 a month. The biggest problem is insurance. It's skyrocketed with all the unisured drivers and theft. I need to move further from he border! Mark
