SuperMn106
While I was outside trying to clean off the girlfriends parents driveway today I took a couple pictures of the mess that we have. I shoveled off the 3 inches of snow to get to the ice. I put down some ice melt and let it sit for about 3 hours before I tried to tackle the ice. When I did, I had no luck. Turned out there was 2 1/2 inches of solid ice under the snow. Any Ice fishermen have a spud I can borrow?

Doc
Those pictures are of something you might call a "happy ice storm". A bit more than a decade ago, we got an ice storm that was very destructive. Had your pictures been taken here during that storm, about 50% or higher of those trees would have been broken off about halfway up, or uprooted and laying on the ground. The damage is still obvious today. We have had several ice storms since then and they always offer some great picture opportunities without the damage. That is why I call them "happy ice storms". I love looking at all the brightness and sparkle during a sunny day after an ice storm. It a view of the world you never get to see at any other time. Doc
I think people from Kentucky and that part of the country could show us some spectacular pictures of ice storm damage. I heard that some areas got 3" of ice. Our storm was devastating and paralyzed our area for almost two weeks and we only had about 1.5" of ice. I can't even imagine 3" of ice. TuffnufOutdoors
We got hit with the same ice in Southern Indiana. It is a mess. Power outages (not us though) and trees breaking limbs off every where. Warms up today and tomorrow. Hope it melts. Might get more snow Monday. This is my yard with the trees down. mal It is real hard with this weather taking care of the family horses.
