Orion_70
This is getting ridiculous, prices for handguns, mags, and shotguns are going through the roof. Not to mention ammo. I was going to purchase another Sig and almost choked when I looked at prices recently!! Just venting
PotashRLS
At what point with the economy does it go the other way where the inventory will exceed those buying them. Then the sellers will be worried about dumping them so as not to be stuck with a product the new administration is going to clutter in red tape or ban altogether. Time will tell. I say buy ammo for the ones you already own.
bluelund79
Yep, Potash hit it on the head. If my spouse only knew that I have more ammo than Gander in the basement, she may flip....At least it is going to be another fun summer....Gun prices may be high, but some of the older, more established gun stores have been cool about the prices of their ammo, unlike the chain stores...Picked up some duck ammo that cost almost 35-40 bucks for 10 for less than 21 w/ tax per box at one of the hide outs.... Orion_70
I picked up a couple thousand rounds of ammo last month from a guy that reloads for really good prices. He's having to go up some too since prices of the components are going up. Still cheaper than most places. I sure do want a Sig P229 , or another P220.. I'll have to see what prices do Edited January 29, 2009 by Orion_70

Orion_70
He sells mostly around La. and Tx. at the gun shows. Only rifle caliber he reloads is .223 but all major flavors of pistol. FMJ, cast, and gold sabers
m gardner
I just bought a Kimber Custom II in 45 ACP for $739.00 because it was there and the price seemed right. It retails for $100.00 more. He said it had been put out an hour before. It should be better than money soon. Mark
Washi
Sounds like a nice price on that Kimber. Seems handguns are in high demand yet I've had very little interest in the two I'm trying to sell. I think I've got decent prices on them. Where do you think I should list them at besides here on Realtree? I need to pick up more ammo but I need to figure out if I'm going with a .40 or a .45. m gardner
I live in a place where there's been a rise in crime appropriate to the economic situation and our location near the border. My sister-in-law was a confirmed bunny hugger/antigun nut. Now she carries a .380 in her purse. I guess where you live there's not the severe need yet. I don't think its your price persay, its more the state of the economy. I found some good deals on some SA XDs and DPMS AR 223s but am laid off next week. Family has to come before hardware and I think that is where most folks are right now.............riding the storm out.

m gardner
She's even starting to eat meat!. The funny thing is that I did nothing, "they" did it. Expose snobby, well read, philosophical:confused:, people to violent surroundings and ooops!! Reality sets in.:D:D The nicer neighborhoods are getting hit because that's where the money is. Been lots of layoffs here too. Fifty percent of the guys where I work are gone. I asked my boss if we were closing. He said no and that he'd appreciate it if I stuck around. I had hoped to go to Montana. I guess not yet. God bless and good luck on getting a job potash. m gardner
Went out and bought a gun safe tonight. Stopped by the gun counter and they had another Kimber Custom II in the case and I wanted to buy it because the Taurus 1911 goes for $629.00 so it's a real deal at $739.00. It was marked $939.00:eek:. Guess I got the last one or it was mismarked.:D. Gas prices are going up too. Mark

I don't know anyone who can even get them, let alone for a decent price.

I thought it was pretty good compared to everything else being over $1000 if you're lucky.
woodshed
I've been wanting a Ruger Super Redhawk. On Gunbroker it seems they are going for as much as 100 more on average lately. I can't buy one for that.

dexcop1
It's not just guns,it's also ammo ,if you can find it. Went to a gun show in Charlotte NC. Parking lot was a fairground lot and I could not find a parking space. Gun stuff is getting scarce. Our president is the best gun advertisement ever.
