fly
Anyone headed to the Deer Classic in Collinsville Il (near St. Louis MO.) on Feb. 20th-22nd?
ilhnter
Isn't the IL Deer and Turkey Classic the 27, 28, and 1st or are you talking about a different show?
Mach1
It's the St. Louis Deer Classic & Outdoor Expo and it's Feb 13-15 according to this... http://www.amdeerclassics.com/shows/st-louis/ I will probably not attend. My dad and brother went a couple years back and were not impressed.

MUDRUNNER
I'll more than likely be there at least one night. I wouldn't mind seeing the Pat Reeve seminar.... and meeting Nicole. Last year i seen the Roger Raglin seminar, and it was interesting to say the least. That guy's a hoot. I believe mach1 is correct on the dates. fly
Wow! Glad I posted this, I had the wrong dates! Thanks for the correction.I did have the dates mixed up for the two events. I hear the one in Bloomington is better, but Collinsville is only 15 minutes away so I go there. My kids love catching trout in the trout pool. I'm going to enter my buck and have B&C score it for me.No official measurers around here so this event helps. Maybe I'll see ya there MUDRUNNER.My picture and the deer I'm having scored: (say hi if you see me). >Frank

fly
If you do keep an eye out for me, I'll have at least one and likely two rug rats aksing me to lift them up, or buy some candy, or ... well, anyone with rug rats knows what I'm talking about. I'm going to try to make at least one of Pat Reeves seminars. I'll also be there Sunday during the awards ceremony. I'm bringing home the gold this time! KirkV
Hey guy's I will be there for sure but probably will not enter my 10 pointer yet because it is not mounted. It green scored 164" gross but I will probably enter it next year under the historical muzzleloader class.

fly
I'll look for you Kirk. I'll be there Friday and Sunday. As long as the drying time period has elapsed you can have it measured (just the rack) and entered. My 07 buck was killed on Jan 17th 2008 so I had to wait until this year to enter it. fly
I took the wife and kids tonight, the kids had a blast. Each one caught a heafty trout and shot several bucks with the laser rifle game. I also met Pat Reeves and Nicole Jones. Nicole invited my 7 year old to go hunting with her. They were very nice people. (Almost as nice as Tim, Steve, Randy and the rest of our Pro's). I guess it's ok to call them ours? I didn't get to go to any seminars due the kids, so I may be there tomorrow (Saturday). I had a B&C measurer measure my 07 season buck and it came to the exact score (162 & 2/8) as the P&Y scorer got. I was glad to see that. fly
Well the St. Louis Deer Classic is over and I must say it was my favorite one. I went today for the awards ceremony (just in case) and although I didn't bring home the gold my buck did win a third place ribbon (162&2/8 net) for typical/archery. My 6 year son took the picture with my phone. There were some awesome deer there this year. The typical/archery 1st place went to a 170 inch (net score) bruiser. There were several non-typical bucks that went over 200 inches and the 1st place buck was over 220 inches. I spoke with the "main guy" Hugh and told him to invite Tim Andrus for next year. He hadn't heard of Tim, but he knows about him now! Hugh also mentioned that he had initially published the wrong date which caused a lot of problems. That is why I had the wrong dates initially. He said that 1/4 of the vendors booked couldn't make it because of the mix-up. Next year it should be the third weekend in February. fly
Sounds like a good time Frank! Wish I knew you were going to run into Pat woulda had you say hello for me! Have seen him in a bit Tim I sure would have Tim. During the Saturday seminar Nicole was having trouble with her laptop. After the seminar I attempted to help her with it. We never did get the DVD her production crew made to work properly. I did get to talk with her for a while though. She is from the Carbondale IL area and we both went to SIU Carbondale. Of course I was there about 10 years earlier than her. They have a new forum out. I'm not sure how much Pat uses it, but I've seen Nicole post on it. There's not much there yet, but if you know Pat you might want to drop in and say hi?
