deerslayer06
Hey guys, I'm away at IU for college right now and my mom gave me a call tonight. Turns out my freezer broke (dont know when) and she just opened it up today. All my venison from this years public land doe (first bow kill ever!) went bad... over 50lbs of burger and steak. What a bad night. Have to wait till October 1st....2009. Eat a steak for me. :(:(
Dakota
Dang! I certainly will, buddy! I know what that can be like. That happened two summers ago with ours and we lost a lot of elk meat, though we were still able to save most of it. Dakota

colts1888
That sucks man. Had it happen to me too just last year. Went down to the basement to get something, just happened to look over at the freezer and noticed the light was off. Walked over there and found the thing UNPLUGGED! Don't ask me how it happened. Anyways, i was able to save about half of it, the rest i had to throw away. I was up until 2 am that night frying up the burger for things like Tacos and chili and then put them in bags to freeze. It was either that or lose all my burger . I had some summer sausage that was good to go and a few of the steaks were still pretty solid. I'm thinking it was unplugged for maybe a day and a half at the most, still don't know how it happened. Needless to say i'm a little paranoid now and check it frequently. HUNTINGMAN
I feel your pain man,I lost mine twice on account of my deep freeze. The first time it got unplugged and I didnt know it until it was to late and the second time the power went out and kicked the reset switch on the freezer and I didnt find it until it was to late. fly
Too bad. Never had that happen. I'd be an expensive loss for me with three deer in there this year. We did lose power for about 6 hours last month so I put my Honda generator to good use.
