bowhuntMN
hey. when i watch duck hunting videos and hear the pros using their calls it always sounds like a full, resonant tone. but when i use mine on the hunt it just sounds hollow and flat evenn tho i do everything that the pros say to do on the instructional cd. how do i get a more full sounding quack out of my call? do you just use more voice out of your throat? i use an RNT original acrylic. thanks for anything you can give me! RTF
Not for nothing, but those duck calls the pro's use are usually custom made and cost hundred's of dollars. They may look like the same thing out of the package, but they aint.
Leo
hey. when i watch duck hunting videos and hear the pros using their calls it always sounds like a full, resonant tone. but when i use mine on the hunt it just sounds hollow and flat evenn tho i do everything that the pros say to do on the instructional cd. how do i get a more full sounding quack out of my call? do you just use more voice out of your throat? i use an RNT original acrylic. thanks for anything you can give me! Kind of hard to describe but I'll try. Try not to let the air come straight out of the call. Make sure it hits the palm of your call hand at an angle. This softens that flat hollow sound you are describing. The guy who showed that to me called it "mixing". Some calls need more "mixing" than others. Hope that helps. duckslayer
i agree with both responses...what Leo said might take some of the dull tone out, but the pros' calls are probably superior. good luck!
