Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Anyone out there find a cheaper place on the web to buy books? Has anyone ever bought from textbooks.com? The books I need are a bit cheaper there than if I get them from the bookstore at the school.
jm23494
I used to buy mine through Amazon and half.com. I could usually save $100-$200 a semester when I purchased online. Just get the ISBN number from the book you need and use that to look for your book and you will get the proper book. Good luck. Dakota
I'd check out Amazon.com or Half.com. That's where I get mine. Dakota
007hunter
Def. get them on the internet. Much cheaper. Have you considered renting them? I know there are several websites that rent them out now and the average cost is about $50 per book. Guess it depends on whether you want to keep the book or not but if you are just going to sell it anyways renting may be a good option. I looked on textbook.com and the total price for the 2 books I need is about $90 less than what I would pay if I bought them at the school. I'll search a bit more and see what I can come up with. A side from the notes I take (and I take A LOT), I like to mark thingsin the books, and write a note or two on the side. I think I have only sold one book back so far. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Update Well, I ended up ordering them from Textbooks.com. I got both of the books I needed, one new and one used, for $130 cheaper than what I would have paid at the school. I ordered them on Thursday and UPS dropped them off this morning. Not bad, I am pretty happy with them, and will probably be using them from now on.
92xj
In my 6.5 years as an undergrad at Appalachian State, I never once bought a single book. They have an awesome rental type system, but you are not really renting them because you are not paying for them. You just go with a list of classes and they hand you the books, at the end of the year, you take them bake. It was awesome. Sorry I cant help though... Curdog
Amazon.com The bookstores are ripoffs. Last semmester I spent 400$ on books. This semester I saved around 200$ on amazon. Here is my question, Why is college so expensive? Here at JcJc we have to buy are own scan-trons to take our test with. Its freakin crazy! TreeStandBowHunter
I think that it depends where you go to school at. I attend American Military University (AMU) and they have a used book program that is pretty cheap. Actually for all undergradute courses, the books are free. You only have to pay for graduate course books which can get pretty expensive. You can see if your school has a such thing. Other than that, I guess you could look on Amazon for a used version of the book that you need. Straight Shooter
Chegg.com is a rental site and is a lot cheaper on books. You rent them, they plant a tree in your name, books are sent in the returnable packaging and a pre-paid UPS slip for returning the book.
