Rules 2009 Realtree.com Forum Members Turkey Contest:

This contest is for the members of the Realtree Forums to have some fun, share their success stories and throw in a little friendly competition. Let fun begin!!

To be qualified for entry into the 2009 Realtree Forums Turkey Contest, you must be a registered member, in good standing, of the Realtree.com Forums AND have no less than 50 forums posts PRIOR to signing up.

1. All birds submitted must have been harvested within the rules and regulations of the state or province in which they were taken.

2. Teams will be randomly assigned with equal and impartial (as possible) assignment of youth hunters (those 17 or younger at the beginning or the Contest) and different subspecies hunted. Deadline for registration will be 12:00 A.M. (Eastern Standard Time) February 27, 2009 in the Turkey Contest Sign Up Thread found in the Announcements and Online Contests forum. Anyone not signing up by the deadline will go on to an "alternates" list where first come is first served should alternates be needed.

Please use the Announcements and Online Contests forum to discuss team names, strategies and talk smack. We want to keep the Turkey Hunting forum from getting too bogged down with these posts.

Each team will consist of up to 8 hunters. At the start the teams will be named Turkey Team 1, 2, 3... Teams can come up with their own name at any time. Please decide on that one name before having the default one changed (no multiple name changes allowed).

3.The measurements of spur length, beard length and weight must be witnessed. Both the contestant and the witness must sign the Submission form verifying the measurements as being correct. All measurements will be in standard English measurement units (Inches/pounds).

In addition, members will need to post a minimum of FOUR photos. Required will be photos of: BEARD… with legible ruler or tape measure included to show actual length, SPURS… also with legible measurement, COMPLETED SUBMISSION FORMS, and lastly, a wide angle photo of the successful HUNTER with the entire bird. One of the four photos MUST include a legible view of your completed 2009 turkey tag. If your local regulations do not require a tag, then write the date of kill on paper and include that in at least one photo. There will be a photo submission thread for this. It will include these instructions for posting the pictures. Please remember……it is the contestant’s responsibility to post ALL required photos!! Entries with insufficient photos WILL NOT be scored.

If you are not able to submit you bird online, send Strut10, Nut or Snapper a PM and we'll make arrangements to have it mailed and posted.

4. Scoring of the bird will be based on the NWTF scoring system which can be found at www.nwtf.org. Each contestant will be able to score one bird for the contest. You must enter your first bird taken for the season… even if you are allowed more than one.

The top 4 scores for each team will be used to calculate the team's final score. The team with the highest final score will be the winning team.

Also in addition to the team competition there will be an individual youth (those 17 years or younger at the beginning of the contest) and adult competition. The same bird and score for the bird submitted to the team competition will be used in the individual competition. The highest scoring bird will be the winner.

5. Contest entries will be accepted from March 1, 2009 until June 15, 2009. Awards/prizes will be awarded to the winning teams after the Contest completion.

6. Failure to meet the terms of the contest and/or play by the rules set forth could result in the disqualification of any contestant or bird entry. Disqualifications are the sole judgment of the Turkey Hunting forum moderators.

The 2009 Exturkinator's Forums Turkey Contest is created and operated independently by Realtree.com forums members and is not officially sanctioned or managed by Jordan Outdoor Enterprises, Ltd.

7. Prizes for this year’s contest will be announced in the near future. The winning team and the highest scoring adult and youth hunter will each receive prizes.

Good Luck everyone! Let the fun begin!

Sincerely,

Turkey Forum mod squad.
