Turkeygirl
Where do you find the stuff for whitening skulls? Any places online to check out?
PotashRLS
My buddy that does skull mounts soaks the skulls in hydrogen peroxide. Don't submerge too far, you don't want any on the antler burrs or pedical.
Widowmaker
I bought a kit from Cabelas that was $19.99 and it does three skulls. It worked great!
artisticwhitetails
Go to any local beauty supply store and get it there. You want the 40volume (40%) peroxide. It's cheaper there and you wont have to pay the overpriced shipping fees being charged right now.

I mix the peroxide with borax, make a paste and brush it on the skull. You might be able to buy white peroxide from the beauty supply store also. RTF
Just a quick note guys. Most states will not allow the salons to sell the peroxide to the public. I have tried to purchase this stuff in NY from a few beauty salons and was turned down without having a cosmetology license.
redkneck
Well i suppose the stuff can be pretty dangerous if not handled properly.
RWTaxidermy
TRY THIS Instead! Where do you find the stuff for whitening skulls? Any places online to check out? Go to your local pool & Spa shop, and buy some Baqucil Oxidizer %27.5 peroxide and it can be reused. The pool and spa shop I went to didnt carry Baqucil Brand but had Softswim C or something like that, it was also %27.5 and is sold by the gallon, cost me $14.99+Tax. It does a wonderful job whitening skulls with no mess.

Stone Cold
Shocking My buddy boils the skull in water and bleach then takes the skull to a pressure washer car wash and blows all the meat and stuff off with the soap and pressure. It comes out clean and white. I was shocked to see how well it worked.
