Master_Chief
I really don't like bad officiating. Seems everytime the Cardinals get going, bang a holding call. Nice roughing the passer on Ben. Defensive holding, NOT. Has anyone else noticed that both questionable calls got over turned.

Master_Chief
Most penalty yards called against a team in over 30 years in the Super Bowl and the game is far from over.

colts1888
Officiating is terrible in the NFL, always has been. It's getting worse though every year. They are becoming a huge part in these games and the consistency of some of these calls are ridiculous. Offensive holding is a hit and miss call anymore depending on what crew you get. They have been told to not throw flags unless the guy being held could potentially make a play. Ridiculous in my opinion. A hold is a hold. I seen a lot of penalties on AZ side that were not called either, mostly holding as well. Heck my father was yelling about that more than I was! The roughing the passer, naaaaa! I honestly don't think that should have been called. Its all over, so now we can think of next season! :p:p
buckbuster11
I can make a post a mile long about questionable calls in this game. Not sure why the last play wasn't reviewed. The holding penalty that resulted in a safety was a complete joke especially since James Harrison is getting mauled on every other play with no calls. The roughing the QB on Ben was a bad call but that roughing the QB cheap stuff is called in every game every week. I thought the play on both sides in the last 5 or 10 minutes or so was the story of the game though. Fitzgerald and Warner played huge, Big Ben and Holmes played huge...all the big players were huge in the crunch.
ruttinbuc
As a Pittsburgh die hard you are going to call it as you see even if you don't know what holding is... The holding on the safety call is a prime example. It was a good game.
wtnhunt
It does seemed to be skewed to one side, doesn't it? They made up for it in the 4th quarter with the calls against the steelers, however there were still some missed calls in my opinion, seeing as how they were calling it tight. Really though some of those calls should have been let go and just let them play, maybe the refs wanted some attention, don't know, but yeah there was a bit of inconsistency imho. Some of the calls earlier on in the second half could possibly have changed the outcome of the game. Harrison should have been tossed out, given the way they were officiating, but he was not. At least the 4th quarter was a great quarter of football.

Tominator
I actually thought it was pretty fairly called. One penalty not mentioned so far was the roughing of the placeholder. That dude from AZ merely fell into the guy, it wasn't unsportsmanlike at all IMO.

Looked like he did not try to avoid hitting the kicker, but did not look like he tried to hit him either, was all I could figure was the reason for the call. Dont think it did his cause any good running off the field with his head hung low, but it was not unsportsmanlike. The hit did not look intentional, bad call in my opinion, made for a 4 point differential, could have changed the outcome of the game. Master_Chief
I think it was made up along the way. Just hate to have to even mention officials in a game as good as this one.

c_lou
I have never ever seen a roughing the holder call. Especially since he was falling down after running through the wing on that side. And the holding call in the endzone had to be called, he tackled the guy.

You run over the kicker like that it's a 15 yard penalty every time. It was just a dumb play by the Cardinals player.
muggs
It was an over officiated game, but you can't say the refs handed it to the Steelers. There were two horrible calls that went the Steelers way. 1.) That roughing the passer on Carlos Dansby was bogus, and 2.) The non-call of Ben's intentional grounding was obviously grounding. Those were two huge plays that impacted the game, no doubt. But, as Boomer said, they could have called holding on Gandy on almost ever snap. He could not handle Harrison but they let him get away with a lot...and there were tons of legit penalties commited by the Cards that cost them the game...not to mention...if they had a defense, they win. The Steelers deserve credit.

I know the placeholder is protected y'all, what I'm saying is that the Cardinal was pushed/stumbling, whatever--it wasn't intentional and to be flagged for unsportsmanlike? No way. Why didn't they call roughing?

Why didn't they call roughing? Whatever you want to call it, it was a 15 yard penalty. He wasnt pushed, wasn't even touched by a Steeler player until he plowed the guy over. Careless penalty on his part. Either way, it doesnt really matter. The Steelers ended with only a field goal anyway.

If he wasn't touched, I think the kick is blocked.
