sureshot
It did not have the finish that buckees deer did:D but was close!!! I was out shed hunting yesterday and walked around some bales were they have been feeding and see what I thought was a dead mule deer, I walked up and it lifted his head looking sad at me,I was only a few feet away and there was absolutly no agressaveness at all, it stood up wobbly and me like the idiot I am decided poor bugger here is some hay to eat as I put my arm out to his nose he charged ramming me in the side, luckly I had his sheds allready in the truck or I was a gonner, I stepped back and he got on his back legs kicking before I could move he was charging again, this time I grabbed him around the neck and wrestled him to the ground and he rolled over top of me, before he could get off the ground I was over the bale and he just looked at me saying this is my food you stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!this wasnot a young buck either, I expect 300 pounds, his back was a good 4 1/2 feet tall, his anlers are a good 6 inch bases,I am thinking he had to much alfalfa and it gave him internal bleeding, there is lots of deer dead this bad winter by the bales, I am pretty sure the coyotes had a good meal last night, even though he tried to kill me and would of if he had headgear I feel sorry for him, I have seen deer my whole life and you can tell when they are scared or nervous this guy showed none of the effects ,no hair standing up, no ears back, just a sad look seemed like he was asking me to help him, I was not being cocky or anything, I was just trying to help him, I know now i was a idiot,I just wish I had a buddy there becuse if it was on vidio I know for a fact it would be the funniest thing on tv for a long time, I can just imagine the look on my face when he reared up or when I was twisting him on the ground to keep from being trampled, the funnies was when I got back to the truck and safty and spitting all the deer hair out of my mouth and face, my whole body was covered with hair,

sureshot
LOL! That is a funny story Bret, only because you weren't hurt! Lucky his antlers were in your truck and not on his head! when I walked in the house and the wife seen hair all over me and my coveralls she did not even want to ask the question but did and I had to tell her, even today at dinner she nearly fell over laughing, It would be the funniest thing in the world to see if I was watching someone else, but happeing to me and feeling a bit stiff today I am just thankfull my stupiddity did not get me injured bad, I do get a smile thinking about it but I think its just becouse I was able to wrestle a mature mule buck the ground just a male ego thing I think lol!! pigeon
it's getting harder to keep our guns up here in the great white north. Good practice for when we have to hunt without them. Glad you were not hurt.It could have got ugly if you didn't get a hold of him right away.

fly
Glad things turned out without you getting injured. I saw a deer get hit by a car and he had that sad look you refer to. I too wanted to do something to help. Maybe we should start a deer fighters club? I meet the criteria for the OTPG, I also think I'd qualify for the DFC. I'll get my story up soon. Now Buckee I must have missed your story. if you could provide the link I'd sure like to read it.

Doe-ee
So glad you escaped further damage. I will never forget how white Steve was (for days) after his little episode with one of God's gentler creatures. Sure does make you re-assess the "gentler" part. Buckslayer
Wow sureshot that is crazy - glad to hear you weren't hurt. I'll be keeping these stories in mind if I ever approach an injured deer!
Rhino
Now that's wild!! Glad you're not hurt and you came out on top. Hair in your mouth I thought it wasn't fair to bite in a wrestling match. Sorry Bret...couldn't resist. Did you happen to think about looking around to make sure nobody was looking? I've had a few instances over the years where when all the action was over I had to look around to make sure nobody had seen me. Nuff said about that.
